What kind of marketing is this where they need to advertise to individual characters? Seems like they're running out of "legit" people to sell to. Either that or its just a keylogger site or scam.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. I started getting whispers about a week or ago, and it even happened on a new character I created within less than 10 minutes. I'm not sure how they find everyone online, either by friend finder or something else.

Friend finder only works for people around your level.

The mules that whisper don't have to be using friend finder... they just need the names that friend finder gives to whisper.

I can't really think of another way they could whisper even new characters without using a friend finder on a separate account with different level ranges or they hack it so that it works for all levels or something.

I was on CH6 when they whispered me from CH1.

Well they could have used the FF while you were on CH1 at the time, you cc'd , then some time later they finally get to you on the list.

Unless... FF updates or something.

In Bello for me anyways, I only seem to get them if I enter the Entrance in CH1. Last couple days I just go into the FM then CC to CH1 and I don't seem to get them.

It really isn't that bad.

I just leave the whisps on. Can't speak for others, but it doesn't seem that bad. They whisp you like 2-3 times a day and only 3-5lines at a time...


In some ways i actually welcome it.

They always seem to catch me at a bad time. I'm either sleeping / AFK from my computer or I'm too busy "training" (aka Watching streams / YT videos) to notice the spam.

My favorite is when they have Christmas specials and it's not even December.

I haven't had any whispers myself but a few alliance members are complaining about it.

Aha actually I've been afking for a few days trying to sell something, and nothing has shown up in my whisper drop-down
It's almost non-existent in Nido as far as I'm concerned, might be the same situation in less populated servers

Never heard of it happening in Zenith, then again we get maybe 3 spammers in fm to start with

It doesn't seem to be a big problem in El Nido, I've only had it happen once walking through the FM. Seems weird that they'd target players rather than just use all chat though.
