Original Dragon Nest Thread
DrRusty Wrote:btw anyone wanna play my merc/ele when I leave for boot camp for 9 weeks? You can use it for extra weekly nest runs and very quick dungeon runs. Just don't take my stuff Rolleyes. You can keep whatever you make from nests/dungeons though.

flonne you want it?

I'd love to try out Ele, but you probably don't know/trust me and I'm on the same boat as Flonne about letting someone else use your account.
DrRusty Wrote:I think I might be the strongest merc on gerranta :f6:

That Vast guy was the only person I've seen who I thought may be stronger than me, but he posted his stats in the warrior thread and now I don't think so. He stacks final damage and probably has around 600 or so, but I have 700 phys range over him and probably double his crit as well.

600 FD gives x2 damage on 32 mobs and x1.31~ on 40 mobs. The crit might not matter since mercs have battle howl so he might hit crit cap with it.
battle howl only lasts for 24/60 seconds normally, but mine is lvl 4 + I have the skill crest for it making it over 100 phys atk stronger and last for 30 seconds.

even with his final damage, I think my phys range is just too far ahead of his. I also have some final damage as well.
Minor KDN patch, but it seems the next class transformation is for Shaprshooters/Bow Masters. It's not the full transformation, but it's a start. So glad that they can tumble cancel now. Might motivate me to start working on my SS again.

It also appears that you can challenge people in town to PvP fights now.

Final damage increases exponentially in relation to %damage though. Having say 100~ fd is like nothing. When you hit the inflection point, each little bit of FD adds like 5% more damage.

I'm sure he knows that. He has full manti set so we can assume he has at least that much FD, and he may even have a 40 epic plate too. He may not have the full 100% increase, but 50-60% is plausible.

Try more like 10-25% at best on 40 mobs. I think the graph for 32 mobs is 1~500 FD gets you to 50% mark then 500-->600 gets you to 100% damage.
Yeah that graph really is steep :x

Just ran mezz first time, made it to round 30 before I died, feel pretty good about it. What do I do with these materials I got from it? Nightmare crystals I mean. Just NPC?

Oh another question, are the valentine titles any good or just for show.

Vday titles are just for show
The crystal from edge of darkness is 10 silver, just npc it. It's completely worthless.

Me too please. My entire party died on this stage yesterday.
Wish my new computer would get here quicker so I can get back into Dragon's Nest =(

Looks like I have a lot to catch up on, the last time I played was when the cap was still 32 i think =/

I don't have this skill. :l
you're screwed then GG

Here's a sharpshooter no damage run. Only beneficial skill is they can stay in the air longer than most other chars but it's not 100% necessary to avoid the damage. There's a sound/animation that signals when manticore is going to drop down so you should keep an eye out for that

keep an eye on the sound flonne
I watched that video twice and didn't hear a single thing, with my surround sound maxed. I heard his wings when he was moving around, but nothing at all when he was doing the attack. and I see no animation change, either.

Yeah, that round is a [censored]. Thankfully my usual group is pretty good (I've cleared the whole thing 4 times out of my 8 attempts thus far).

Two important tips:
1: Watch the sky. Specifically watch for a Manticore jumping up, or a name tag of one at the very top of your screen (meaning there is one above your field of vision). When you see the Manticore lower its arms, that is when you have to jump to avoid the attack.
2: Take out the smaller Manticores first. They have less health, and you have to kill all of the Manticores anyways. Get everyone to focus on one at a time, if possible. The less Manticores there are on the field, the less damage everyone will take.

As for the Gerrant fight (dunno if anyone else here has gotten that far), it's an exercise in dodging. What I've noticed is that you want to stay behind him as much as possible, or failing that, stay close to him or his side. You don't want to be directly in front of him when you attack him, or else he'll counterattack with a quick sword beam.

He is most vulnerable when he uses his Dragon Flap skill, which is the one where he summons that wind followed by explosions further back. If you're directly in front of him when he tries to use it, tumble to his side or behind him. I can do it consistently even as a Priest.

(And if you happen to have any Priests in your party, tell them not to use Lightning Relic against Gerrant. Waste of MP, low damage, and he's likely to parry everything/randomly counter sword beam someone in the face.)

EDIT: I thought you guys were talking about Mezz. Evading the ground slam in Manticore Nest is... Eh. >_>
I just wanted it as general knowledge, for manti nest as well. It's the only boss type that consistently rapes me because I cannot defend against that attack.
