PSA: New trick to ban yourself. Please read.

Tried this on my main account like a goon.

Site access also fails either by some odd error code (110xx) or something or just getting disconnected outright when selecting a channel. At least my in-game assets are safe for a month. =_=

Does this work with other menus or is it just the Equip menu?

Is this really worth a ban record? You will be excluded from those free NX stuff they send out now and again.

Probably not for my "assets", which have most likely been reduced to a fraction of their original worth within a few days. If I recall you get perma'd if you get temp' banned too much as well so it may not even be a permanent solution.

Too late for me though, guess I'll be waving goodbye to the extremely small chance of being given a free handout by Nexon.

I'm not sure, the whole thing doesn't make any sense at all. Why would opening your equipment inventory cause a ban?

Because Nexon codes their game so well, that's why.



This has got to be one of the most silly ways to get accidentally banned, ever. I probably would have been affected by this too if I still bothered to log in. I sort of have a nervous habit of opening and closing windows in MapleStory 20+ times in a row for no reason, it's almost like a calming mantra for me.

I think after I got perma banned once by mistake I'm no longer eligible for any of those cool free things on my account. So it doesn't really matter if I ban myself for 30 days to avoid hackers accessing my account.

Same for me except in my case my cat. And he sure does love sitting on my keyboard...

Just a thought, as a preemptive answer before you get banned. Couldn't you just unmap the Equip inventory from the keyboard? I know it's convenient to just press E to open your equips, but there always is the option to just open it straight from the UI.
