Starting a luckless in Demethos

Is it recommended?
I know a few things
-less money spent on armor/weapons
-more money spent on HP pots
-no nocturnal until lvl 50
-no Elemental wands...for a long time past lvl 70
-no Maple shine wand/Maple wisdom staff till MTS comes out?

Is a demethos luckless still a good idea? I want to make an IL or cleric to fund my later characters as well as be able to keep up with the ppl2pass contest.

Well the noc at 50 isnt really that bad, i did it with my cleric in yellonde and its what im doing in this server when it comes out.
Im also going luckless i/l you can use the paintbrush till 50 just wont be able to use booster.

IMO the int you get from being 100% lukless completely compensates for not having any equips (since it is a new server). You will always have that wooden wand from making first job if you really just want to use booster that badly. OFC this goes back to the luk vs. lukless. I say if you are making it to keep it there, just go 100% lukless.

Nocturnal's can use booster since they are staffs. Umbrellas cannot since they are considered to be one-hand swords.

-more EXP lost upon death
-more MP per level
-faster leveling than regular luck characters
-if you can't get a maple staff/wand or elemental staff and have to use an umbrella, then you can't use magic booster

you could always start out as LUK-less to save money in the beginning and then convert to regular LUK

They changed it so that all classes lose the same amount of experience. I believe all mages lose 7% per death.

Lukless is always a good idea, but why aren't you considering F/P?

LUKless [cleric] is the easiest job to start with on a new world.

why are people thinking they need money to start a lukless mage? i thought yellonde was proof that you didnt already. most of yellonde made it pretty far, including those who didn't leech bf. but its not a matter of should you or should you not. as long as you like playing a magician/ultimate mule, you'll do just fine playing one.

Yeah I think that if you wanted to keep up with the ppl2pass contest it's more about time spent training than what kind of equipment you have

Since you're going to start in a new server, LUKless will, of course allow you to kill faster due to better damage. If you really want to be LUK, you can always just add LUK. Besides, all you gotta do is slap on some noob gear and you're set for many many levels. Perhaps prepare a little on your main on another server and get some NX for meso bags. LUKless = strong easy mage which you have to spend a little to no time looking for gear.
