-Will You Be My Valentine?-

Will you be my Valentine?
Will you be the one who makes my world shine?
It could only be for a moment of your time,
Or it could last forever in my mind.
So will you be my Valentine?

Or will you just stare or laugh?
Or will you smile while wearing a mask of glass?
It could hurt for a life time or two,
Even if you never meant it to.
So are you sure I am not your Valentine?

It was hard when we were young and would play,
Words of love were not easy to say.
But now that we can feel our age,
And I know we have come to the final page,
You will always be my Valentine today.

Wrote that peach for no reason.

Will be getting my wife an edible arrangement. Heart-shaped pineapples and chocolate strawberries on sticks, etc. She's not a fan of flowers, but we both love pineapple and strawberries.

This. First, before slight rant: love the gesture! Edible Arrangments are the best.

Seriously though people? So it's Valentine's Day. Whoop-de-fuckin-do. Wallowing in your singleness or forever aloneness is *gasp* why you're there in the first place. Now is that to say you HAVE to find someone today? Heavens no. I'm single myself today, but that doesn't mean I hate the holiday. Sure, people have their personal reasons for disliking it for corporate reasons, etc., but disliking it because you're single is just plain stupid. What are you going to say on the Valentine's Day your aren't single? Hm? I'm a hopeful romantic, a lover a love, and so I'm happy to read about so many people experiencing a wonderful, down-to-earth romantic holiday today.

The only time I understand being pissed at V-Day is if you just recently had your heart broken. I'm sure I wouldn't have said anything I just did if V-Day was in November. But broken hearts heal, and so being upset for that reason every now and then is okay, but in general, please. Don't be a sourpuss.

The big reason why I hate this holiday is, after being together for well over 25 years, my grandparents finally tied the knot on V-day, and like 1~2 years later, died.

To those that actually have/had plans / did something today with anyone else, hope it went well.

It's not that I hate the holyday. It's that I hate how everything and everyone reminds me that I'm lonely and that I'm not enjoy certain things. I choose to be alone and deal with whatever I might be missing in some way or another. That doesn't mean I don't feel depressed and lonley sometimes, today is on of those times I remember what I'm missing... and it's depressing. I'll be fine in a couple days, though.

I feel kinda the same way, i have no problem with romantic things usually, but i can't stand it when its thrown in your face like this. "This is how you should be acting! This is what you should be doing today! don't have someone to do it with? tough! Look at this happy man and woman, being lovey dovey for the whole word to see, try that with another guy and see how the world reacts!"

I just don't like the idea of this day in general. But anyone who doesn't feel this way will just say i'm butthurt, so i don't bother expressing it.

I'm not going to say you guys are butthurt or anything, I'm going to simply say: you can choose how you react to emotionally to events like these. I totally understand an overwhelming amount of "in-your-faceness" that has to do with the corporate side of the holiday, but being depressed? C'mon.

Example: My ex of a few months just posted a Spotify playlist with the comment "Good with chocolate, wine, and loneliness Smile." Mind you he broke up with me and hasn't been with anyone since, so to some degree his loneliness is his own damn fault. And how do I feel seeing and knowing all that? Knowing that essentially he's saying being with me is worse than being lonely and depressed?

pineapple it. I'm not going to sit here and knock myself down just because someone gave up something amazing beyond their comprehension and don't have anything in its place. I may be single but I'm certainly not depressed. I have my moments of sadness here or there, but letting them dominate your emotional well being for even one day is taxing and so sad it breaks my heart.

Wow you overthink situations like that? I would have just guessed the guy had, I don't know, other problems and people to think about.

I just used depressed the wrong way, or something, I was just exaggerating. Being sad because others are depressed seems like an exaggeration as well.
Also, your sig is toooooo distracting.

People should not take Valentine's Day so seriously. Just sayin'.

Elaborating on what Dan posted, you shouldn't be depressed because you're single on some meaningless holiday, nor should it be entirely that big of a deal if you aren't.

How many of you kids spent Valentine's Day like this?~

Anyways, I made special cards for a few really close friends that I really owe a lot to this year and I handed out cookies to friends and acquaintances today. Not bad.
