question - does ice resist reduction increase the duration of freezes?

question 2 - does the fire/ice shield crest "reduces hit damage by 20%" actually increase the damage reduction to 40% (at lvl2). Can someone explain the crests to me please?

Q1:

-Currently, -1% ice element resist extends freeze duration by ~0.05sec. (before the update this value was ~0.1sec.)

Q2: Yes it stacks. THE THREAD HAS EVERYTHING YOU'RE ASKING RUSTY >_<.

it's also much much easier to make gold on a populated server. Always has been. There's more noobs to buy stuff off of really cheap, and more people to buy your overpriced crap rofl. I remember in WoW when I server transferred from a low pop server to one of the most populated servers in the world. I was making gold so fast it made my head spin.

1. When you apply -20% ice resist to a monster, you increase the damage your ice attacks do to them. Think of it like ignore def on maple

2. I believe it works multiplicative so it's 20% * %from skill, not 20% + %from skill. Nnot entirely sure though

Oh I didn't see the links at the bottom. I only looked at the different builds that guy posted. I don't see anything on there about how the ice/fire shield crests add onto your current shield.

It's not explicitly said that it's stacked, but implied (though it's pretty obvious considering how he says it lol).

Although I don't have explicit confirmation, I recall back when the shields stacked, I could have a period of 50% dmg reduction from both shields. This somewhat implies that dmg reduction stacks.

Was messing around with my build for a while, then realized I would be doing a lot better off being hybrid/mostly ice.

personally I would pump up some ice shield and get lvl7 inferno over frozen spikes. That's just me though.

Mibs is an ice main elestra. He probably wouldn't be getting inferno.

If he wanted to maximize his damage output while still being an elestra, he should've went for the fire build + elestra from saurus' build.

I'm not sure what he's looking for in his current build actually Lol. The damage growth by spikes / ice field isn't exactly good. Glacial spike isn't maxed out for the % freeze either. I dunno. It's as if he's trying to maximize damage through ice skills which isn't really a good choice. If you're going for the ice resist, you wouldn't have three skills for maximizing ice resist either. Then random level 4 hotrod.

As far as I know, there isn't a Southperry guild in Argenta, but both myself and Shinku are in a guild with several other SP members. We're all from Bellocan (excluding Shinku), so it's also sort of a Maple-centered guild too.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense LOL. Thing is though, I'm going Ice Witch, so I was thinking since I"ll stack % ice eventually, frozen spikes/ice cold field would be better than the DPS from fire skills.
These builds aren't very well thought out yet...heh

I'm still not sure what you're looking. You should give some guidelines on how you're looking to build your character. Saurus' builds are essentially the most optimal from all the research he's done on skills.

Unless you INSIST on having more ice skills then you take points out of fire shield and Hot Rod. Probably drop phoenix and ignition for shatter and other ice skills.

I haven't read it, don't plan to, but I thought I'd share lol
