Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread

First real ziggs match, got a quadra that determined the game:

At the start the enemy ziggs was a little better than me, but by mid game i stepped up my game and started catching people out of place racking up a few assist, then we forced a baron when he was half health a wild nunu/wukung/leona appeared so we stopped the baron and start chasing those 3 netting us 3 kills, then we pushed a few towers at top after that we decided to finish that baron and so we did.

In the end we pushed mid, nunu suddenly went forward and i dropped the mines/bombs, he run away, i use ult, bomb a get a double kills, then finish ziggs that was unloading on me and after that tristana that was near a tower (That was casually aiming at me already, thx to soraka i survived that one), boom quadra kill and we ended up pushing to the nexus.

Definitely going to try grabbing just an RoA next time I play Ziggs. Felt so instagibb'd when I went Rabadon's → Zhonya's when the active was still down.

Having a lot of fun with Ahri after buying her.

In my latest game I had to mid vs. Kassadin so I was expecting the worst. Learned that I could harass with Q while staying out of range of his silence so that worked well. At level 5 I saw him leave lane so I assumed he was heading to blue, caught him and Lee Sin killing it and Lee was at like 5% hp so I killed him then managed to kill Kassadin as well and walked away with their blue. Felt good.
Game was pretty rough though; our Lee and myself basically had to carry the rest of the team. At Baron they initiated poorly so we were able to catch them and after that they surrendered.

Also finding myself really restricted by only having 3 rune pages. Maybe I should just shell out the $20 for the 7 page bundle .__.

Just started playing LoL last week and I have to say I'm getting really hooked on it. Still getting used to all the terminology (wtp is facechecking?) and it feels like there is SO MUCH MORE to learn compared to DotA I feel like a complete noob.

Been playing AI games as Soraka - not confident or comfortable enough yet to play a carry, much less against other people.

If anyone wants to noob it up with me feel free to add Xelendis. I'm only level 8 so don't expect too much of me yet.

I'd like to see some kind of system for support characters to get a small amount of gold for buffing their teammates - something like 5 gold per time. It'd probably encourage more support players in lower ELO...

I think that their solution to that was the support gold mastery. Because anything like what you say wouldn't be balanced (soraka has more buffs, leona can support but doesn't have buffs, taric has permanent aura, so does sona, etc, etc...)

Facechecking: the act of checking brush with your face. Frequently results in surprise ambushes. See: Garen. At low levels in particular, people in the top and bottom lane love to wait in the brush to try and catch the other team.

Nunu, Ryze, and Caitlyn are pretty straight-forward champs that are free for a few more days. Nunu has a really good healing skill and the slow from snowballs make it easy to engage/run away. Ryze is a caster that builds off mana, so he ends up very tanky with good damage. He's also got a non-skillshot (hit automatically on the target) snare that allows for easy engage/running. Caitlyn is probably the safest ranged AD (attack damage -> right click to win) in the game. Her range is incredible and she has solid escape from her net and the cupcake traps are always useful.

People don't play support in low ELO because they're not powerful enough, it's because they "don't deal teh damagez". Almost every single instalock you will ever see is whatever the new champion is, or a DPS. They just like seeing pretty numbers.

If i played ranked id fill that role. I love support <3

Low elo support sucks to do sometimes because you end up feeling powerless if you're carries have no force to multiply.

I do believe it is viable though to climb the ladder with I climbed from 1100 to 1400 using support almost exclusively. The issue
now is that I have to play carries in solo queue or I'll likely not climb much more.

It definitely can be done though just look at nhat he's a support GOD.

LEVELED UP TO 15~

I hadn't been playing as frequently as I used to- I actually took an entire month long break since Christmas Eve, so I've got a bit of catch up to play with some of my friends. I figured that I might be able to go for a level a week, and have done such for the past two weeks.

I'd still love to learn from better people, advice on how to play better, and getting ready for higher level games. I've usually done really well in mid as Annie, but today I've been placed against some fairly tricky players that kept me from pushing and getting kills- while they're not quite able to get kills on me either. This game screenshotted was actually starting out as one of those, but it managed to pick up after Sejuani helped me secure one kill with her CC.

I do that with Nidalee, if my carry sucks I take more CS and deal some damage.
