Okay, nevermind. I forgot how internet speed is typically measured.

I am more okay with download speed, but still very jelly of that upload speed.

Bzzzt.

"This awesome infographic shows the internet costs and speeds around the world for the top 20 nations in the ITIF Broadband Rankings. Unsurprisingly, we don't compare too well.

Number one is, predictably, Japan, where the average broadband speed is 60mbps and they pay $0.27 per 1mbps. We, in comparison, average 4.8mbps and pay $3.33 per 1mbps, putting us at #15. Be sure to click the above image to see it in its full glory."

So more like $17.55 a month for 65 mbps. Still incredibly cheap for the speed, and warrents me to shout

"WHAT?!?"

Umm...no, it's about $50 a month. Two seperate bills (one for ISP, one for the cable service) that are about 1500 and 2900 yen respectively. Roughly 40-50 USD

Nevermind, most of that was the initial setup fee. It's closer to 30-40 USD per month.

Oh. I guess I was misinformed. I was just going by that one chart I saw some years back. xd

But still, that's way better than the best internet I have available to me and at a much cheaper price. @_@

So Japan has the fastest speed (by a long shot), and Korea's internet speeds are somewhat slower but they are essentially portrayed as taking gaming very seriously, meaning they are more likely than not more skilled. So if a Korean top player plays against a Japanese top player across the internet, it boils down to faster reaction time vs faster command speed (aka less ping, attacks/commands are executed faster). Superior skill vs superior speed.

Probably not. The connection speeds are so fast with so little distance between the countries that it very likely doesn't impact the game at all. Much different than how East/West coast can expect some slight delay at the least.
