They didn't do anything other than patch the server / channel crashes from the past. The same thing is only going to be done with this scenario if that's the case.

Can you guys imagine? Back in 06-07 you were cut off from boss runs if you even had a hacker on your BL. Now you'll be kicked from boss runs because you don't have good enough gear, aka hacked gear. Soon that will become a minimum, even the NX players will have difficulty keeping up, assuming they stay with legitimate gear.

hahaha, you still don't know me completely, i never disagreed with you, what i did rather than accepting it, i decided to ignore it with a laugh, like i have always done and still do (see: following dupers around)

this is nexon too, believe me when i say that i don't believe i have hit rock bottom, by far, i still am pretty fine where i am, and will probably go even deeper, i do runs with people not for their gear, but because they are pals, i still enjoy the game, what i say though, is that with how crappy it's become, i'd rather not worry about legitness as much as having fun, if i dupe anything, it won't be for selling or becoming richer, it would be to improve my char, i barely even visit the FM these days. and my gear is all "legit" 2 pieces were made through duping ages ago, everything else i've scrolled and enhanced myself, with obviously duped WS and GM scrolls sold in FM (for my weapons at least) and handmade in the case of my gears.

if anything, this MMORPG has lost the "challenge yourself to be the very best amongst them all" part that most MMORPG's have, just reach a level which you find fun, without comparing yourself to others, legits, hackers, and anything in-between, literally: play for fun.

I really don't think anyone is behind this series of crashes. Nexon's bad at most things, but they have a good track record at patching packet related crashes especially when it's being going on all day.

Other than that, I agree totally. How can you expect people to comply when the most they can expect is a slap on the wrist. Only twice has Nexon done something I find appropriate and that was the chaos scroll incident, where just about anyone who profited from scrolls was perma banned, and the meso exploit relating to storages where they actually did wide spread MAC address bans on exploiters before a certain date. Both were extreme, but deterred mainstream hackers.

Those won't stop actual hackers though because it's so profitable. It's odd that most people don't realize how many dupes there were pre-4th job era, people with mules full of white scrolls still exist, but it was limited to a handful of individuals.

when i said crash, i meant in general, like the nexon ones that happened in Big bang, that were purely their fault, or the CvP ones which were triggered by hackers, and not fixed until pomegranate hit the fan and went public.

This topic makes me depressed. I started MS in 2004 and played until 2007 and quit. I came back because I had such fantastic memories from that time of making friends and spending time grinding together. Now GMS is a fascimile of what it used to be. The people in this thread are what I remember the old MS community to be like, and it makes me nostalgic. Anyone in Khaini? We can huddle together against hackers in our pathetic minority.

Though I never duped myself (that's why I'm poor as fck...), I can't really care more or less how fcked up Maple becomes anymore.

Goldfarmers, Botters, Dupers, Mass NX cubers, they're all the same to me.

All this shiet (yes, also NX cubing) ruined a -in theory- great game:

- Get a lvl200 Demon Slayer in less then 7 days? No problem!
- Do 100 times more damage/sec then players who don't cube? No problem!
- Item prices which are ten times higher then max mesos (colleteral crap 'n shiet)? No problem!

This game is ruined for such a long time, that nothing can really break it any more then it already is...

The most illegitimate item I bought was the chaos pendent with 72 stats, but I already threw away my legitimacy in that regard.

i meant it that way because even if the gear is legitly achievable, it's most probably made through duping one way or another, not judging at all man.

anyways, by pure definition, i stopped being legit 100% long ago anyways.

You've been "punished for playing legit" for a while now, but that's the community at large's fault for having low-functioning autism. If you have a non-retarded guild/alliance/BL and don't try to compare yourself to "the best" in the entire game who's equips (along with themselves) are obviously rotten beyond repair at this point, then this is much less of an issue than is made out especially with instanced boss rooms coming our way.

The "equip-race" aspect of Maplestory died off years ago and should not even be considered any more since hackers control the "standard" which no legitimate player can reasonably achieve (or in the case of 4 line potes, can even achieve at all). They also make sure the largely adolescent player-base are sufficiently insecure about their own equips and sufficiently jaded at Nexon, despite having probably only played for months, to throw hundreds of dollars at them (the hackers) with the promise of finally being "good".

Some alliance members were trying to dupe, and I was pretty disappointed in them because one of them was extremely anti-hacking. I almost quit the alliance right then and there out of pure disgust.

Its getting rather irritating how everyone blames the immature 13 year old people look at Skittles in Bera the leader supports hacks n hacked gear and is she not in her 20's most of the immature people are the supposedly adult players because they have the paychecks to spend that money the younger people are usually the Tr0Ilz and Hene ho's but I am sure its half n half there's some legit and some not so legit players.
