... LOL. This is hilarious. I wake up to this pineappling bullpomegranate.
I'll say that the servers won't be back up until 2PM PST, and the servers STILL won't be stable. And this is never going to end...

CrazyNomad Wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LOIC I'm aware of what LOIC is. Perhaps I should have worded my question better. Rather than is it possible, is there any reason why it could not be a DDoS attack? RayGun Wrote:I doubt that it is a DDOS. Anyway in previous incidents the server could be brought down by sending a certain packet which presumably is being kept secret. I think the person doing the crashing is a single individual, but of course many cheaters are taking advantage to dupe, though they are not responsible for the crashes.Any particular reason why you doubt it's a DDoS attack? Previous incidents with server crashes could have been done by sending a packet but those methods have long since been patched (to my knowledge). Also, it doesn't appear to be a server crash in any case as it seems that channels aren't all crashing simultaneously. They appear to be going down very rapidly at approximately the same time but not at the exact same moment (which would be what a server crash would do). Also, a server crash would not take down the login server in conjunction to the game servers and obviously, unless 100+ people are devoting nearly 24 hours a day to this, channel crashes should be ruled out. So unless the particular group in question somehow has a method to crash the login server as well as a new server crash to take down all channels in a given world very rapidly or has 100+ people devoting literally all day to coordinating channel crashes perfectly, is there any plausable explanation for this other than it being a DDoS attack?

I don't understand Nexon's logic. And it's partially our fault too, remember when 2x was not enough compensation? Now everytime something happens we're like "They better give us 2x". I wonder if Nexon has any bosses or if they're controlled by Nexon Korea, in any case we should complain not to Nexon employees but to their bosses. I would laugh if they all get fired in exchange for competent people.

Lol, the site still says "Game Offline," but GameLauncher seems to work fine.

Nothing wrong so far, but I find this interesting.
MapleStory is up again, however, the stability issues from this week are very complicated and there is a possibility of us facing another series of crashes. We are working on a compensation plan, which will be announced when all details are decided and when we assure that the servers are stable. We sincerely apologize that we were unable to resolve these issues quickly and within a specific timeframe, and we are working hard to make sure that all of these issues are fully resolved. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve these issues in order to provide you with a stable gameplay experience. Straight from the main site. Was this a Nexon-wide crash? If it was, were these kinds of notices given out for the other games too?

Everytime I go in a portal and lag for a second I assume the entire game has died. :|

You made me curious so I checked, Maplestory is special as it's the only game they even mentioned compensation or said it was server instability the rest just said we are experiencing login issues. Though three games have a slight edit on the very copy and pasted statement, Combat Arms simply states that two errors are directly correlated, Atlantica claims that the entire Nexon team is working on the issues at top priority, and Vindictus is the only one to claim the login issues are solved.
