Though I have a feeling that human error was partially at fault here.

Yeah because the mediterranean sea is as cold and far away from land as the north atlantic.

I saw this on the news as it was happening.
It's kind of funny that the ship "sank" and is still 3/4s above water lol

A different article i read said that the boat was in no danger of sinking anytime soon, and that the 3 who died jumped off the boat and tried to swim.

He's being held hostage by his pet rock, so tugging it away is probably no option on the short term. This probably also is the reason why it didn't sink fully yet, I can't imagine it'd be so steep near that rock that an entire cruise ship could sink.

Edit: Nevermind, interpetated your message in the wrong way.
They do tug big cargo ships into harbours, no idea if they do that with cruise ships too though.

According to other articles, the cruise wasn't going to dock at Giglio anyway. They just came too close to the rocks.

First thing I thought of when I saw the title was TOR. I've been reading forums bashing Bioware too much. All hands, evacuate TORtanic! ;-;

The captain even had the nerve to lie about it, saying he tripped and fell onto the lifeboat. What a prick.

Was that his excuse for abandoning ship lol? Another article I saw said he might be in legal trouble.
