Ask a Pirate Thread
Blank Shot, Recoil Shot, Flamethrower, Ice Splitter, Battleship Cannon/Torpedo.

Max range depends on the skill:
Normal shot - 200
Sin range without Keen Eyes - 200
Invisible/Blank/FT/IS - 250
Archer range without Eye of Amazon - 320
DS/TS/RF/Homing(?) - 350
Sin range with Keen Eyes - 400
Battleship Cannon/Torpedo - 400
Archer range with Eye of Amazon - 440

So it looks like a gunslinger's range won't be all that decent. This kinda sucks in a way.

What skill are you talking about? >_>

Invisible shot can hit monsters directly above and below you. (please do not say this skills range sucks, it's absolutely phenomenal when you're sniping)

DS/TS/RF/Homing almost hits the side of the screen anyway.

Battleship Cannon/Torpedo really does hit the side of the screen.

The only thing is FS/IS and they're completely fine. You won't be complaining about range, trust me.

Just the way that Russt worded it it seemed that my range would be fairly indecent but you have once again clarified. Thank you kind sir.

Just to clarify, you WOULD be able to snipe Newties from that spot behind the rope, right? Also, would Gunslingers be able to use Invisible Shot at Monkey Forest 1 like Hunters do there during 2nd job?

I don't know whether to pick infighter or gunslinger.
Is it true that infighters are powerful and gunslingers are weak but fast?

Edit: Is it true what maplewiki says...
They say infighters have really good damage but lack accuracy...
and gunslingers are accurate and have stable damage.

This is generally, stereotypically, and summarizingly (that's not a word lol) speaking.

I didn't word anything. My post was pure data :f6:

Yes you would be able to snipe Newties with TS's 350 range, but you probably wouldn't be able to use Invis at MF2 very well since it's a fixed 250 range.

I read that gunslingers get a similar hp boost as archers, so I was wondering if it is recommended to have hp washing? =/
*This is of course for a gunslinger who likes to boss a lot
At lvl 120, an archer usually has around 3k hp without hp washing, is there an estimation of how much hp a gunslinger would have by lvl 120 (without hp wash)?

I'm fairly positive that with the vertical range you can snipe 3 platforms of monkeys at once. O_o

@ Above: A gunslinger has around 3.3k at level 10x. Does that answer your question?

Yes, that did answer my question. XD Thank you.
Now I know that a little bit of hp washing should be done and not so much as an archer. Biggrin

I doubt they'd need HP washing at all. If they did, 3 levels of AP in HP during your 14x will do the trick.

I'm talking horizontal range. It's pretty bad, especially since it's a fixed range rather than one determined by impact.

You wouldn't be able to snipe very effectively, but you could just get in the middle of them and spam, the way rangers/snipers do Kru/Capt.

Most people just note the horizontal range and leave it at that, which is why i noted it. Eek

Well i wouldn't say snipe 100% of the time. Far as i know the only place you can literally sit at and attack and get decent/amazing exp per hour is newties, so everywhere else you have to do some work on the map's spawn. xD

Would horizontal range matter that much when you can hit three platforms at once? Shine

No, but archers can sit and snipe there while hitting three platforms at once.

Bomb is a terrible skill. It's thrown in an arc so there is a good chance you might hit another mark and it's as slow as explosion. For that reason trying to compare it to archer skills isn't a good idea. I pity the slingers in gms you guys don't have C-2.

Don't bother HP washing. By the time you're 15x+, you'll have plenty of HP.
