Need Help With Choosing Class... :(
#1
Trust me guys, I've looked at the videos and guides for EACH classes. I didn't even come down to two choices of a class, it's that bad. I would like YOUR opinions and why you want me to choose that class.

If you guys can answer in this format...

'Which class is better in... The beginning (1st Job)? The middle (2nd + 3rd Job)? And the end (4th Job)?'

credits to Ian for making the kickass guide. It will only work if you don't look at the end results.

Haha, Kurtle's post made me laugh. xD

But yeah, you have to take in consideration your budget too.

This should sum up very shortly the classes I tried/own.

NL: Best meso rip off ever. ;[*Their equips are extremely expensive due its broken weapon attack effects at high levels. But their skills are fun and they do high damage. Their low HP is to take in consideration. Careful with bosses and evil high-damage monsters.

DK: The higher your level is, the more other classes will need you [mostly from 3rd job]. You're an important member of a party. Priests and Bishop would die to have a piece of your HB! Then again, its skills leech a lot of HP; You will need a Healer most of the time to train. But equips are pretty average prices.

PADK [Pole Arm DK] or SDK [Spear DK] ?
PADKs provides of the best mobbing damage thanks to Dragon Fury being their main offensive skill. Pole Arms aren't that expensive either. Also, they have a faster offensive casting rate. Sadly, they do slightly lower damage than Spears.

SDKs gets to do more damage to a single monster with Crusher [main offensive skill], but when mobbing using Spear Dragon Fury, the casting time is slower. Spears are more expensive too.

Priest/Bishop: Training a Cleric can be extremely slow. You're mostly the most frequent victim of KS because your class has the lowest damage. It can change if you're LUKless, but you find yourself with a higher rate of deaths. When being a new Priest, you only have low-level skills which is also a pain, but as soon as you get HS maxed, other classes would also die to have that mighty skill in their party. You're mostly dependant to other classes since it is rare for a Priest to solo. Well, the EXP rate is slower, even with HS and monsters are evil to you with their high-damage [meaning higher death percentage]. Then again, you're another important member of a party and will get to level fast whem training with others. Aah, being a Bishop is pretty godly. Genesis provides you one of the best mobbing skills [a max of 99k damage per hit too!]. No more KS'ing for you! ;o

I/L Mage: This is actually a really fun class. They go "Freeze! Have a good time. 8D" At low levels, it can be hard to train, but the more you level the more it is addicting. You get to have access to a good quantity of skills too. But it is mostly the freezing that makes this class awesome.

make a hero. Best all around class in the game pretty much. The only weakness they have is ACC, which can be obtained easily. Great DPS with brandish and awesome mobbing with rush. Not to mention they have power gaurd and high HP for survivability. Brandish also has pretty decent range.

Tell us what your preferences are. Like close range, bossing, mesoes, etc. etc. Strategy.

Oh, and you should really include Pirates in your poll since they're coming out soon lol.

It is hard to train them at low levels, though. But they are fun and have high-damage rates, indeed and that, from 3rd job.

Well, I do like medium-long ranged, I am extremely well funded, I probably won't go that far with the account, if I do, it will be slowly, and I will do bossing once-in awhile.

Sorry, but bossing doesn't occur until you are at least near level 100 so you need to become familiar with a class and find a playing style that suits you best. I chose cleric because I love helping others and hate doing high damage. I prefer to be intertwined in the background whilst someone else does the workCool. However, if you are looking to do medium ranged attacks then look into the upcoming Gunslinger class as well as the mage classes. Gunslinger is fast-paced quick-fire attacks with low damage. The mage classes have decent ranges, level quickly on their own, and do mediocre damage. If you want to see how each class plays then why not try a PServer so you don't waste pointless hours training on a character that you don't like.

It would help if you have preferences from other games or previous characters, that post earlier really does cover things pretty well though I would split things up slightly differently, because I find the difference between close, mid, and far range splits the classes better than dps.

(green = good damage, orange = normal damage, red = poor damage, blue = good mob damage, bad single target - note: 4th job Assassin is only good in a party)
def:
close: Melee range. Can hit up to 50-100 pixels in front of the character. Tends to get hit with bump damage more often, and cannot avoid magic attacks.
mid: Long melee range/short aoe range. Can hit anywhere from directly in front to halfway across the screen. Not much bump damage, still vulnerable to most magic.
long: long range projectiles or large aoe. Mostly projectiles have a "min distance" where they'll do weak damage if a monster is too close. Can generally avoid being hit by magic attacks because they can stay far enough away. However, all the long range classes have low hp so they die more easily when they do get hit.

Well he could always hunt low level bosses such as Mushmom, Zombie Mushmom, or King Clang.

I would say become a Bowman but I'm bias.

If you want to boss; Night Lords, Heros, and Bowmasters are easily accepted into boss parties.

you could easily wait 3 days for the new patch and try a pirate 0_o

since you're already near undecided, why not try something new altogether?

The reason why I didn't choose Pirates is because I played my cousins' infighter + gunslinger. The infighter is basically a warrior except with a longass delay time between each (thus the "combo") and a VERY close range. gunslingers are I think the most rigged. Their the fastest (nearly the same with bowmasters) + the most hp out of the ranged class. Plus the expenses of how much its going to be... ugh.

im kinnda leaning towards the Hero or the BM.
