Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
Played Teemo on a smurf [lol] with le gf. Enemy Heimer was the only competent player, but boy was he annoying. It was a fun game and we barely managed to pull a win ― Teemo es #1 bait.

Most fun part ― running around in circles putting down mushrooms each time I passed through the bush because Tryndamere really wanted to kill me. I escaped and the team came to get him.

ffs next time I have to play mid, I'm picking Morgana. ;_;

How do you guys build your kogs...that other one has 2 RoAs...

I usually go dorans blade(if mid/support duo lane) or boots and 3 pots, then rush madreds(razor->pickaxe->bow) then into frozen mallet. Sorc boots in between the 2. Then if game lasts that long probably cleaver or something.
Riot officially on board to stop SOPA!

Ryze Wrote:Summoners,

We’re not usually inclined to comment on politics. We’re a game company, and making games is just a whole lot more fun.

But there is legislation under consideration today by the United States Congress that gives us serious concern.

Called the "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA) in the House of Representatives and the "PROTECT IP Act" (PIPA) in the Senate, these bills are a misguided attempt to curb the illegal piracy of copyrighted content (like movies, music and games). Preventing piracy of copyrighted content is a laudable goal, and Riot supports legitimate efforts to combat these activities and protect content creators (like us).

However, SOPA/PIPA goes far beyond simply addressing piracy. This proposed legislation actually threatens any website that features user-generated content. In effect, any copyright holder could file a claim that a streaming website is hosting unauthorized content (such as a song in the background of a League of Legends stream). Under the law, ad networks, payment providers and internet service providers are now potentially liable for their user’s infringement. These services could then be compelled to immediately remove support for a streaming website or face a costly legal battle – at a minimum cutting off financial means, and likely shutting off the site entirely.

How would SOPA/PIPA impact League of Legends players?

Kills streaming. If any single streamer plays copyrighted music (or alt tabs into a movie or other owned content) on their stream, there is a significant risk of the entire streaming service being taken down. In some cases, it could even result in criminal penalties for the streamer.
Threatens independent content creation. Services we all use to create and share League of Legends related content, such as YouTube, Reddit, DeviantArt, streaming websites such as Own3d and Twitch, and more would be at risk of shutting down or greatly restricting the scope of legitimate content allowed on their sites.
Attacks our community. Aspects of our service such as the official forums and potentially even in-game chat, could be taken down or have their features reduced based on user behavior.
Other harmful effects. SOPA/PIPA undermine established intellectual property legislation like the DMCA, raise serious constitutional free speech issues, and could even compromise the basic security infrastructure of the internet.

Congress will reconvene at the end of January, and with a long roster of supporters on both sides of the aisle, SOPA/PIPA could actually pass. The likelihood is so great that technology giants including Google, Amazon, Facebook and Twitter have gone so far as to publicly consider a simultaneous blackout in protest.

Riot Games is opposed to SOPA/PIPA in their present form. While we do support efforts to prevent online piracy, the current form of this legislation comes at far too high a cost for us, our players, and online communities across the internet.

Help us take a stand. Write your congressperson today and voice your opposition to this misguided and harmful legislation: https://action.eff.org/o/9042/p/dia/acti...n_KEY=8173

And a statement from Rep. Jared Polis, U.S. Congressman from Colorado who actually plays LoL :f6:

Rep Jared Polis Wrote:Hi, this is Congressman Jared Polis of Colorado. As a member of the League of Legends community (partial to Anivia and Maokai), and as someone who made his living as an Internet entrepreneur before being elected to Congress, I’m greatly concerned about the future of the Internet and gaming if Congress doesn't wake up. You may have heard that Congress is currently considering a bill called the Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA. While SOPA has a ton of problems, there are some significant issues that I thought fellow gamers might want to know about.

I’m particularly concerned that SOPA might stifle the kind of innovation that brings us games we love, such as LoL. The bill makes it far too easy for angry competitors to sue good law abiding companies out of existence. It threatens any company or website that depends on user-generated content, even companies like Riot. Instead of coming up with great ways to keep making games like LoL even better, companies will have to spend their money hiring lawyers. That's why companies like Riot, who want to protect the games they create, are opposed to SOPA.

I’ve been working on alternative legislation that would protect the games companies create while also fostering innovation. But we also need you to call your members of Congress and let them know of your opposition to SOPA. This bill has a very real chance of passing, and it is up to all of who want to protect the Internet to take action. More information is available at http://keepthewebopen.com/. Please make your voices heard in this debate! I will be happy to respond to your posts below, and will check back every few hours today and respond to as many as I can.

You're better off playing kog'maw as a traditional ad carry with BT's IE and PD's at bottom lane in my opinion, but if you're indeed forced to mid you can either build full out ap to turn into a nuking machine with a loaded archangels, deathcap and void staff or go that attack speed build like yours where I would rush a wits end and berzerkers/mercs. Wits end is a way cheaper item that makes you tankier against the casters in mid and you'll still be able to dish out some great damage. It's never really a smart idea to rush madreds because noone has some real hp yet so after that wits end you either build madreds if you're doing good and frozen mallet if you're doing bad.

He's less than level 10.
Played Tristana in a duo bot setup, went against a Vayne who simply liked to autoattack creeps all day and push. Then again, I benefit from this because that person overextends as a result, I jump on him, and its free kills/assists and gives me a minute or two to farm up and get ahead every time. Biggrin
Jormungandr Wrote:How do you guys build your kogs...that other one has 2 RoAs...

That's a low level game. Ignore it.

I usually build Koggles AD, though if the situation calls for it I'll go AS instead. If I see that poking would be better suited, then I build Manamune.

Holy smokes, he's probably my favorite congressman right now! All the other politicians are mostly "wuts an internet?" or cronies of Hollywood.

Basically, my teams are dumb and force me to either go solo top or solo bot cause the non jungler and mid are duo qued >_>

I don't think I ever want to go pure ap kog. That way you're basically going all ult damage, which isn't bad, but his w is so much stronger.

I do the sorc boots because I think the extra 10% magic damage from madreds + w still has to go through mag resistance right? I don't get merc cause I'll be in the back using w and r to kill off people usually.

Maybe I'll try him full on AD one game. I usually go the madreds route if they have at least 3 tanky champs. Which has strangely always been the case.
Epic thread - LoL champions "speaking out" against SOPA

Jax Spotlight, out before it's posted on website.

Hurray for subscribing to Riot on Youtube Rolleyes.
Holy pomegranate he is horrible now.

LOL bye bye good passive hello piece of crap.
Lol, no more Tanky Jax, they basically removed half of his Ult and put it in his passive. (Also removing Extra Magic resist for Bonus AP and AD on Cast)

Wait did the just.....nerf him by changing his inherent tankiness-based passive to a passive with an effect that was present in his previous ult?
It doesn't look too bad, I mean...I need to see the numbers to judge.

Seems like he can jungle now, at least Rolleyes.

Can't wait to play my first penta-kill character again.
Also it looks like Counter Strike will have a duration of anywhere between 2-3 seconds.
WillDaSnail Wrote:Also it looks like Counter Strike will have a duration of anywhere between 2-3 seconds.

With that Effect (Ignores EVERY SINGLE BASIC ATTACK over the duration and does damage according to the number of attacks "Countered"+Stun)... I hope the Cooldown its rather decent, otherwise he will be a major boot to the head to every AA in the game.

Disclaimer: Basic Attacks dont Cover ANY Skill, Proc chance or not.
He was already a major boot to the head to every AD carry back then.

This probably makes up for his lack of bulkiness.

Never said he wasnt before.
