Exact date\time of pirates patch (extracted from nexon's promo)

first: sorry if this was posted already.

i looked into the source of that clock on the pirates promo page, that shows how many days are left till the patch. well, basically, it works like this:
1. get nexon's date\time using this aspx: http://maplestory.nexon.net/common/serverdate.aspx
2.converting the date\time in the aspx above to timestamp (the number of milliseconds passed from the 1.1.1970 00:00 untill the date\time in the aspx)
3.loading the variable holding the pirate's patch timestamp (the number of milliseconds passed from the 1.1.1970 00:00 untill the pirates patch)
4.subtracting the pirate's timestamp from nexon's time timestamp
5.computing how many years\months\weeks\days\hours\mins\secs the result of the subtraction is
6.showing the "day" result

what i did is basically forcing the flash file to also show the hours\mins\secs left, and the result was that the pirate patch will start on the 11.11.2008, in 14:00 (nexon's time). this is not 100% sure, because nexon might have just inserted this time into the flash file, but actually plan to start the patch sometime else. however, this is the most we know now.

nexon's time is pst, so just use a time converter.

also, this is the timestamp to pirate's release: 1226440800000
do w\e you like with it if u have some sort of timestamp -> date converter o.o

I'm assuming 23:55 is military time, so that'd be 11:55 PST.

It would be 2:55 AM EST.

check the edit, i used a web converter and got the new correct time.

Seems interesting...but I think I'm gunna go with the standard 9 or 10pm pst time and not ending til afternoon on wednesday (2 or 3pm pst).

Perhaps it's an end time? You're right about the number not being 100% certain, but usually they do patches at nights, not at 2 PM PST - right around prime time for most players. o_O

Well, it probably isn't the end time since...

1) At least with the start time they know it's exact...Nexon probably does know they extend a lot, and it doesn't make sense for Nexon to put D-Day on the time the patch ends since the patch would probaly be extended.

i personally think nexon want the patch to end in the prime time, but they know it will take them about 24 hours, so they start it at the previous day's prime time.

you are over estimating nexon. they wouldnt bother calculating the new timestamp, updating the source, compiling the swf and updating it in the website every time they extend the patch.

Okay, then they'll show the scheduled end time and just leave the clock while they extend the patch. It only shows the day count anyway, so it's not too important whether it's exactly right or not.

Man, are you serious? I'm not even trying to start trouble, you two are getting defensive over common knowledge. The countdown ends on the 11th, If you finished Elementary school you'd be able to figure it out on your own it's tomorrow, we don't need someone to tell us this. Plus there's plenty of other Pirate Patch hype threads.
