6 months, it was due to be changed again 1/1 ironically.

I've been changing my password weekly. One my other account it's been 4 months or so since I changed the pass, both accounts are usually logged in at the same time from the same location, account information for both stored on my computer, etc.

Someone in the mabi technical forums is claiming to have had the same thing to happen to them within an hour of changing their pass, and they didn't even have a Maple account.

^ This! I've been reading all morning around the Nexon forums. It seems nothing we do is safe at the moment. People are being hacked and robbed of NX via Maplestory's MTS without EVER having downloaded the game. I don't believe any nexon game is safe right now. If you have a character in any game that has NX on it, it seems they are creating a Maplestory account with your login information (if you don't already have one), in order to steal NX via MTS. Unfortunately right now, the only way to stop this is to take down the MTS indefinitely. It doesn't mean your other items/mesos or whatever will be safe but at least we will still have our NX that we paid real money for. <sigh>

Shutting down the MTS entirely would actually kill a LOT of the hackers' incentives to continue destroying this game. Most of them make their money through abusing the MTS.

The Cash Item shop permit thing that KMS has. Of all the copypasta from Nexon Korea, why not this? It's clear Nexon doesn't want to expend effort policing the MTS.

That would be one form of security, yes.

I think i wrote a post or something like 9 months ago that suggested turning MTS off in exchange for cash trade room.

Sure MTS is a great idea and i still kinda want it anyway, but i'd rather hackers not make money and Nexon not run into too many problems rather than making it easy to convert NX into meso through barter items. Cash trade room would do the same thing but it would tax meso more than the MTS currently does. Technically a good thing, but people won't like it very much.

They should shut down the MTS until they find GOOD security measures to ensure people will not have their NX stolen. I say shut it down until they can figure it out. I'd love to know a good way to get in touch with people who would have some influence considering their stocks just went public last month. Making their stock go completely down the tube might make them think twice.

I was on another forum... had a good laugh. It's sad when you do your job so badly hacked players are driven to a private server because its more rewarding and safer, instead of the common 'easier' reason.

MTS isn't the problem. People that NEVER used the MTS got hacked. I used it ALL the time and I have yet to get hacked

I would rather disagree with you, since if it weren't for MTS I would have nothing for hackers to take in the first place.
Those of who don't give the damnedest ounce of care about Maple are getting bent over and frelcked sidewise by hackers using it to take NX from us we've charged for other Nexon games. That rather seems to make it part of the problem.

But this is a MS forum, isn't it?. I mean, it's not fair that people that play other nexon games get their NX stealed because of MTS, I mean, anyway... I bet theres a gift system for other nexon games. So either way, their NX would get hacked. (Correct me if im wrong please)

But yeah, my point is MTS isn't the issue CAUSING the hackings. Because i've used it plenty of times and never gotten hacked, and i've read all this theard since it started EVERYDAY and some people didn't even use MTS and got hacked, so yeah.
