Or just accentuate your already strong points by playing a Carry, common its a no brainer.

Long-standing? You sure you're talking about Riot here? Blizz has been using Soon™ for years and they even copyrighted the term.
Hey, I need a number cruncher dude to halp a bro out. Would it be better to run either pure flat AD/AP runes as opposed to running a mix of flat AD/AP with their respective penetration?

Depends on what champion you're playing, what team composition your pals are running, and who the competition is.

I'm uncertain at this point as to which way is generally better, but I can say that if you're running an assassin/burst champion with a dominant early game, penetration marks would probably be better.

As for formulas, here's damage after mitigation:
Code:
(Full Damage) * (mitigation factor)
Mitigation factor = [100/(100+defense)]
where defense is either Armor or Magic Resistance.

100 Armor = 50% physical damage received
200 Armor = 33.33% physical damage received
300 Armor = 25% physical damage received
etc.

Effective HP = HP/(mitigation factor)

Assuming 2000 HP:
100 Armor = 4000 EHP
200 Armor = 6000 EHP
300 Armor = 8000 EHP
etc.
At first, it looks like there's diminishing returns, but if you calculate it in another way -- effective HP -- you'll see that every single point of defense is worth the same. The concept of EHP is that instead of calculating how much damage a champion can take in mitigated form, you can instead calculate how many attacks it takes to kill that champion by just adding up the damage being dealt, rather than received.

Realistically speaking though, the first 50-100 points of defense is worth more however, since without those defense stats, you're well within the range of getting bursted down by a gang of champions and not being able to do a single thing about it if they get the jump on you. Hell, 5 champions unloading everything on a champion with 200 defense and 2.5k HP is still likely to kill, although then his teammates can just retaliate with impunity. Being alive and being dead are two very different things.

True Damage always does full value, and can never be mitigated or increased (although shields absorbing damage and Kayle's R is a different matter).
Huh, how come whenever I look at my Mastery page in a game, it's sometimes different than the one I thought I set it to? Pretty sure I haven't been using my Singed mastery page when I'm actually playing him in a real game no less. I thought they fixed this? D:

Also gg, the Garen I was laning with. Fling someone into him, he goes for the other guy.

I'm generally speaking for Lux and Graves. They're my two best characters, and I almost always carry with them, even though it's much harder with Lux late game. I've been running a 22 Attack damage page on Graves since I started maining him, but I was just curious overall because for Lux I have some magic pen in her rune page. Lux's page has 29 AP and 8.5. Magic pen, this is usually pretty good for me but do you think it'd be better for for swap the 8,5 Pen out for some more AP that counts towards the masteries I run, which have % AP and all that good stuff. At this point it's 5.3 AP or 8.5 pen. I think I'll stick with the pen?

Doesn't mean Riot can't jump aboard the train. They established their part in Soon™ on release with spectator mode and replays. The latter of which has still yet to see an official release.

I don't play WoW though! Frown (I was not aware they actually copyrighted "soon" for whatever reason they had :f6Smile

I think you're taking this a bit too serious now.

I don't think they've ever said replays were coming soon. However, we can expect replays to come after spectator mode happens full time.

I was aware that Blizzard did the "soon" thing, but I had no idea they copyrighted it o.O

On a side note, I <3 ranked. I keep getting people that actually want to win, and aren't total asshats. I'm currently sitting at 1345 ELO, which isn't bad, right? I'm only 5 wins in and 2 losses, but I'm happy. I need to play 10 games total to get the rank to show in my summoner profile, right?
raizoo Wrote:zzz in dire need of upgrading my PC.Hate the range on his Death Ray so hard. His skills seem really fun though.

I'm interested in seeing how he is in good team.Because if I don't beat the crap out of her, she won't want to come back to kick my ass. We both hate to lose. ;P

She's telling me in other RTS games she's played that she's someone who's super weak early game but is then damn near impossible to kill late game. Friends that know this exploit it and ZERGLING RUSH her. So since I don't know LoL as well as you guys, any help? xd

PS ― She loves Cho.

It depends on what you're describing with damn near impossible to kill late game. Do you mean like a pure tank or someone who deals great amounts of damage? The pure tanks are pretty well described by the champion tag so I'll assume the latter. A perfect example would be Ryze built with archangels banshees mercs frozen heart. Nasus is a good one too who has to farm up his q but he isn't that bad early game. Irelia is really hard to keep off the important people (carries) with her dash and cc reduction, but she has to farm up trinity force and some defense at first. Offtanks like that are generally hard to shut down from your carries. Especially if they go warmogs/atma's giving them a ton of hp with still some decent damage. Veigar is a good example of someone who has really the best late game, but he remains squishy until super late game. His early game kinda sucks too so that fits the description. Kog'maw melts through everyone late game if he knows how to position himself and he has a pretty bad lane compared to the other ad carries. Ashe is a good late game carry too, who really shows her utility then combined with great damage if farmed properly. Mordekaiser is a champion that can faceroll over 2-3 champions too, but he isn't that weak early. Riven has some great AD scaling and is really mobile, but again not such a weak early. Then you've, what I would like to call suicide carries like Tryandmere, Karthus and Twitch, who can walk in, deal tons of damage that would likely kill 2-3 champs and then die late game. Kayle had a great late game before but she was changed so I'm not sure about her anymore. Hmm I guess you can pick a lot of champions Rolleyes Ryze would still be my most recommended though.
It seems that she likes tanky characters ― she loves Cho and Maokai so far, but she said Janna wasn't that bad.

Also, trolling her again. Played Zilean and went 21/0/14. Bombs kept KSing her. (/ω\Wink

Crap. You improved a long way from Heal Teemo.

now featuring 85% less damage. Don't play tanks and supports until you're level 30 because before that there's no guarantee of skill. There isn't at 30 either but there's still more skill present at level 30 than before that.

Because playing tanks its all about damage right? Same with support Rolleyes
