Familiar Hack

I just play this game for lulz now. Screw money and better equips. I find it sad that Nexon hasn't at least said something about this. You'd think that if they cared for their game, they would at least have someone looking over it. But non-action basically proves that Nexon doesn't give a crap about anything.

Blur out the names, that's an accusation and drama.

Odd that while doing the events on desert bunnies (for the dews mang) with my Big Spider no one has said anything about it.

Bera has gone from 6-2 shops to 11-2 shops. I'm staying out of the FM until like Summer Break. I don't even go there often anyway.

I guess it's cause I AFK in Leafre a lot :/

Anyways, I asked a few of my Maple buddies the hypothetical standpoint of "what if Nexon were to temporarily take down Maple, similar to Mabi, and try to fix the current hacking outbreak?"
Surprisingly enough, all of them pretty much told me it'd be the stupidest decision Nexon would ever make and they would rather quit than see Nexon trying to fix Maple in this current situation, as the game is "already FUBAR'd".

Glad to see people apparently don't give two shits about wanting Maple to survive...

How long have you guys known each other?

Doesn't seem to be worth it loosing a friend over this.

Are year or two, but we rarely talked/saw each other either way, so nothing important was lost.

Sounds like they sucked some levels out of it and are afraid of the consequences or something.
It is sickening that so many spend time and money on Maple, but at the same time hate it and have no interest to see it survive. It is like everyone online is heavily psychotic. Where are those like me, who play for fun and have no interest in illegitimate shortcuts or e-penis contests, and have no hate-love relationship towards the game where it is shameful to like it?

I play like that on my main, which is why I'm not playing my main >_> Part of the fun in training for me is the prospect of getting stronger/richer, and training just doesn't do that anymore. On the shiny new classes it does, though - at least until about level 140. They've made it easier to bull through 140-200 but IMO they haven't made it any more interesting.

There seem to be Vaccers appearing at lower leveled maps.

Ive been to the Emo Slime map, one of the Mateon Maps, and the first Robot Guard map in Verne and there are quite a few people with 'asdfg' type names constantly switching channels, and on occasion you can walk into the map and find like 20 or so monsters on 1 platform.

I haven't encountered any Familiar hackers myself, but its these types ive been seeing instead.

There are tons of these at Kentaurus/Future Henesys/Ereve too, I've not ventured to the Edelstein Mine lately but last time I was looking around there I found a lot of Evan/Battle Mages hacking with vacs there. Nexon ;_;

This made my morning. But yea. some people are impossible to talk about this, can't see past their own greed.. Thankfully myself i haven't deleted anyone of my BL about this yet. I haven't logged on shad for a week anyway because i know if i do i`d end up deleting most of them for being so spineless..

Wonder if those responsible for the hack's creations think themselves as MapleStory's "messiah", that they feel they are liberating it from the "evil" Nexon so that another company can take over, one that they can bully and threaten into playing favoritism?

I mean think about it: If Nexon, a company as big as they are, were brought down by the hackers with a selfish and greedy desire, then the next company who wanted to do better would be pressured to obey their commands via the fact that they brought down Nexon through sheer community power.

Either that, or they could be aiming to bring it down permanently. Why though, I have no idea.

Do they feel that a game is worthless, and intend to show that it's better to replace it with drugs, sex, and violence?

Are they trying to promote another game? If so, what about this other game is so great that they need to have a show of cyberterrorism?

Is it that they want to flex their internet muscle so they can rule the internet?

So many questions. Many are empty shots. But one thing's clear: these guys had a motive to do this. It's obvious by their "hatred" of MapleStory, Mabinogi, and any game Nexon displays. But what if the hatred extends beyond that? What if, deep down, they feel a hatred that humans can't comprehend?

While I don't agree with Nexon's policy, I also don't agree that everyone else's fun should be ruined because someone decided to give a horde of monkeys the tools of destruction and mayhem.

Boy, you are reading way too much into it. Some hack or create hacks for money, some do it for e-penis reasons. It is as simple as that. I am sure a small, small fraction might be doing it because they think it hurts Nexon, but trust me, they are not in any great numbers.

I don't think the ones that created this hack thought so far in advance. It's probably just so that they become better known within the hackers community, and maybe they are selling the hack, instead of giving it away (much like BT, also sorry if this is publicly known, I do not stay up-to-date with every hack in GMS). Then their reasons would be nothing more than fame and money, nothing like wanting a new company for Maple or to close Maple down alltogether.
