So phantom is being released today in KMS, which is exciting i guess.

It's like a maple fans dream. Can we name all the characters? anyone know the buffs that Phantom casts? (I think the second one was Hyper Body)

I loved Mercedes' reaction to seeing Phantom, i'm glad they aren't ignoring the relationships between the heroes like they did with Mercedes' and Aran's storylines.

And now we see Hilla's true form too, as well as her knights (who are undead, which kinda fits with Aswan which i believe is underneath El Nath)

Characters in MapleStory shouldn't be that bad ass. He's like a pimp too. Cane, feather in cap, girls screaming, trying to be all suave and that god damn car. Motherf`ucker.

Wow...

Phantom is the first character that I MUST play.

I'll probably be disappointed and find that they don't actually flesh out how exactly he fought the Black Mage, but that won't stop me from playing just for the quest line.

I think it's safe to say that, in creating Phantom, they just ripped off qualities of every anime badass that they could.

And I'm okay with this because it's Maplestory.

Now all they needa do is go back and update some old stuff (like Aran's storyline) and add in something like that ;D

Also, I see they used Jin based on the artwork that came with Dual Blade =[ y u no update Dark Lord's sprite, Nexon! D=<

Well, I don't mean the fight itself, but more the before and after.
We have yet to see Phantom even close to Leafre, so we don't know how he got away from the fight and survived for all these years.

He also seems to have more interesting motivation for joining (even if they're a bit cliched).
Then again, with the exception of Mercedes, all the Heroes could using some fleshing out of how they became the last defense against the Black Mage.

We'll probably, like you said, see an update to the Hero questlines when the Pirate Hero finally drops.

Either they were frozen along with him (in which case the Crystal Garden would have crashed or been discovered) or they are recent acquisitions and Phantom has been active ever since the fight with the Black Mage, either hiding or possessed by Lotus

I would not be surprised if we see a version of this with Phantom instead of Demon Slayer and Demon Slayer instead of Cannoneer.

Then we'll see a version of this with General Orca and Demon Slayer.

Especially since Mercedes was like "OMFG PHANTOM I LOVE UUUUUU!"

My first thought upon seeing Phantom's skills was Gambit. Immediately made me want this class.

I wonder who makes their animations. Spadow said Studio Animal, but they don't say anything about MapleStory in their portfolio which makes me assume it's made by Nexon or some other company.
