Christmas is the same business as usual every year. Going to my aunt's house a couple hours away from me for dinner and booze today, because almost all of my dad's side of the family lives there. We'll probably be doing something for immediate family and maybe another aunt's family (mom's side) tomorrow.
As far as gifts go...
Mom: Several scarves. They're le sexy.
Dad: Video entertainment.
Brother 1: Stella Artois chalices and a gift card for buying a case of beer.
Brother 2: A guitar multi-effects pedal.
Girlfriend: A new guitar & amp.
In other news, my mom was really nice and got my gf jewelry before I did. (Although it wasn't expensive, but still...lol)

Nothing. I don't see a point in celebrating just because of it being a recognized holiday by everyone. Not doing much tonight, honestly. Tomorrow, I might be driving my parents to the relatives so my dad can drink all he wants, then I have to drive him back home. So I'll just be playing Skyrim at my relatives with my laptop. -shrug- Though I do wish everyone a Merry Christmas anyways. It's a nice holiday for cheerfulness, though gifts aren't necessary.

I suppose my gift to my loved ones is the time I spend with them; they see it that way as well so it works out in our benefit. Besides that, with the recent move, budgets have been tight, so my folks just saying that they are homeowners again is gift enough for the time being.
As far as the real festive stuff goes, it is sadly dead as of now. All my life up til recent years we had had family reunions on Thanksgiving on my dad's side and made that our "Christmas" holiday together as each personal family preferred to have the actual holiday together alone. Long story short, Grandfather died, Grandmother went senile and favored the black sheep for everything, unity broke apart, reunion dead. Effectively as close to holiday spirit dead as I think I can get. Mother's side is a joke, so I won't even go there.
Tomorrow will be us cooking as planned here at home, likely yelling each others heads off in the process about how someone's not doing something right. I can literally hear it already; downstairs as I type. At least I'll hopefully have a job to keep my mind occupied this time next month.

SO excited with my gifting this year, though I literally just checked shipment tracking on my sister's gift and found out it got forwarded to my address in Madison when I need it here in IL because I was stupid and put my name on the package when I should have put one of my parents' to deter said forwarding. Ohwells, I'll figure that one out.
Mom: Swarovski Annual Edition Christmas Ornament 2011 (she LOVES collecting ornaments like no other, and hello former job perks), and another little Swarovski stretch bracelet to go with her ring.
Dad: The coolest slippers ever, the gift I'm most especially excited to give because he has a couple pairs of slippers already that are decent or falling apart, asked for a new pair, and I love J.Crew and my family's always loved their gifts from there
Sister: Made this into a t-shirt for her, per request. So excited for this one too, but again, stupid mail.
Aside from that, plans are pretty lax, thank god, sans Skype sessions with le grandparents. Though my parents just found out my sister just snuck out of the house to go drink/smoke with friends after they had all been screaming about it earlier tonight, so tomorrow's probably gonna be filled with a lot of drama too. #thisiswhyidrink

Jasmin: that sounds awesome. I'm happy you're so excited, haha.
How are your days going, guys?
I just got back from my dad's to drop off his gift and was unexpectedly given Tactics Ogre and Mass Effect 2, which are my first christmas gifts in years so I'm extremely grateful to just be acknowledged.

Awesome headphones.
The Last Testament (By God) (yes, it's exactly what it sounds like)
Snakes on a Plane
Blazing Saddles
I'm liking this Christmas more and more.
Pity I hate most of my close family, so having to socialize with them and eat disgusting food that they like last night was not my idea of fun.
Oh, also, moustache socks, glow in the dark Knockaround shades, and a $20 bill rolled up and some ground-up smarties. From my cousins.

Is this now a "What did you get?" thread?
I got the first two books in the Hunger Games series (we already owned the third one), clothes that I picked out, candy, a couple gift cards, and TerryRichardsonXLadyGaga which is the only thing I actually asked for this year. :3

Got a friend a gift code to download the production of Much Ado About Nothing with David Tennant and Catherine Tate in it, and she's really into Doctor Who and theater.
There may have been a note explaining my feelings for her with that.
We're going to see a movie on Tuesday.
So yeah, pretty good Christmas.

Aside from stomach problems in the first half of my day, today was awesome. I'm extremely satisfied with what I got and I feel bad that I couldn't give anything back. :|

Last night my mother and I went out with my Aunt and Uncle for dinner. It was our first time actually going out for Christmas eve, and having fun since my grandparents passed away a few years ago. So that was really, really nice. After that, my mother and I did gifts because we wanted to sleep in today. She got me some really nice sheets, a pack of socks, Dark Souls, a little food processor, 12 month of Xbox gold (which I need to exchange for the 4000 points instead) and the best gift which was 3 movie poster frames. I had two posters here and put them in, and they're fucking amazing looking. Currently bidding on an Iron Man one on eBay right now. I got my mother a fancy heated back massager, and she used it for like an hour and half last night. She's really pleased with it.
Overall, this is the best Christmas I've had since my grandparents passed away a few years ago. Hope you guys have a happy holidays.

Our Christmas days are typically quiet and subdued, alcohol-free affairs that only include immediate family. I ended up missing breakfast, but that was okay since Christmas dinner was huge. Gifts here are usually sparing or functional, it's still a welcome for a get-together in what is otherwise a fairly secular home. Despite all 4 of us having <10 presents each the unwrapping of the gifts still took at least 2 hours, mostly due to my father trying to save as much of the wrapping paper as possible lol. Being a broke student with less than £20 to my name I unfortunately got nothing for anyone s;. In return I got:
- Book on how to draw manga
- Book on *actual* drawn art theory
- A sketch pad
- Putty rubber
- 12 graded pencils
- 5 gel pens
- New earphones (old ones broke)
- New headset (old one broke)
- Some cash for a few weeks groceries
My family seem to be trying to tell me something regarding picking up drawing seriously again. I think I'll happily take the hint and run with it.

Everyone enjoyed their gifts, which is always great. Personally received:
- Rainbow shot glass from sister (E X C E L L E N T)
- V for Vendetta, also from sister
- Magic Bullet
- Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
- Lots of candy/chocolate
- Lots of money
Will be getting myself a couple awesome things these next two weeks with said cash monies, including the Versace for H&M jacket I've been dying over for months now, as well as my rainbow music tattoo and perhaps some J.Crew goodies.
Day so far: respectively uneventful. Skyping with grandparents, eating too much food, etc. All in all a good, average Christmas.

I got some money from my aunt who was too busy this year to prepare gifts, which I'll probably spend on gas. Also got a Skyward Sword disc as a shared gift with my little bro.
Holiday seasons are really not my thing as of late. They do nothing but remind me just how terribly alone I am. I hate moping around doing nothing productive.

So, I didn't know what to get my family and spent a lot more time (and money) than I had originally planned.
For my mom, I got her a $50 gift card to Burlington Coat Factory. She goes there all the time, so I thought it was appropriate. She said she loved it and saw something she wanted while getting us something.
For my dad, I got him clothes. He ALWAYS gets clothes every year, so I decided to switch it up a bit and got him cowboy movies he likes so much. I even got him Cowboy vs. Aliens.
For my sister, I literally had no clue what to do or get her. She didn't know what she wanted either, so I just got her a VISA pre-paid debit card.
For my brother, I got him a Super Mario sweatshirt. He always plays Mario related games. I also got him a Hetalia: Axis Powers shirt since he loved the series.
What I got was half-expected and half shocking. This morning started off with a bang:
From Tay: I got a Glee Christmas soundtrack, a stocking with candy canes (and lol USPS destroyed them), and a card. Literally didn't see this coming!
From my Mom: I got 2 hoodie buddies, a cap, some gloves, and $150 to spend on myself. I wanted to save the money in case I needed it for emergencies.
From my Brother: I got 2 more hoodie buddies.
From my Sister: I got a $25 gift card to Olive Garden. (She says if that doesn't scream "I'm Gay.", nothing else will.)
From my Dad: I got .....a Snuggie. Wanted to go ![[Image: tumblr_lwo500QZep1r8058ko1_400.gif]](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwo500QZep1r8058ko1_400.gif) because I always made fun of the idea of a Snuggie. Now I get one. Time to see what all the rage is now I guess. I do appreciate it, though, but really? ;A;
Also....there's something else but I won't spoil the details
