Formula to Figure Out Range?
#1
I wanna try to figure out my range when I get my Mercedes Tiara tomorrow, but I don't know a formula or anything like that. Can someone help me figure this out? I added HP and MP just in case. This is level 97 if it matters.

CLEAN (including +stat equips)
HP: 2726
MP: 2053
STR: 102
DEX: 552
INT: 19
LUK: 23

ATTACK RANGE: 2010~3093

BUFFS (including +stat equips)
STR: 102
DEX: 552
INT: 19
LUK: 23

ATTACK RANGE: 2580~3970

The difference would be adding 3 STR/DEX/INT/LUK and 5 WATK.

Thanks. If you need to know more, just comment.

Well, the damage formula is the same for all classes. That being:

(Weapon Multiplier) * (4 * Main Stat + Secondary Stat) * (Weapon Attack / 100)

First, you're going to need to give us the amount of attack you currently have (the total amount from all sources), that way we'll be able to figure out the weapon multiplier on Dual Bows (assuming it isn't already known), and then we'll be able to figure out the effect that tiara will have on your range.

Do you mean the about of WATK on everything? Dual Bowguns are 90, Maple Ring is 1, Silent Crusade Rings are 3 altogether, and Legend ring is 3.

Max Range = (weapon multiplier)*({4*primary stat}+secondary stat)*(attack/100)
What's the DBG multiplier?
Also, what %dex and %str do you have?
I could figure out what the DBG multiplier was if I had your %stats.

Not sure if I remembered all sources of attack, but it seems like the dbg multiplier is 1.3 based on my Merc. So your total attack is 3093*100/(1.3*(4*552+102)) or 103, so your new max range would be 1.3 * (4 * 555+105) * 108/100 or 3264.

And your minimum range is your total mastery, 15% base for ranged weaponry, and 50% from your 2nd job Mastery skill, and since you're 97, you don't have dual bowgun expert yet, so it'd be 65% of 3264 or 2122, so your range will be:

2122~3264

This is assuming you don't have any % atk or % damage equips.

I only have 3% Dex. Also, I made a mistake. Silent Crusade rings are 3 WATK.

I wouldn't worry about it, the formula only takes your total stats into consideration, it doesn't really care where it comes from.

Just to be completely safe, how much attack are you getting from Blessing of the Spirit/Empress?

6 ATK from Blessing of Spirit, 0 ATK from Empress (though I might make a Thunder Breaker with one of the character slots for it). Also, would it be the same formula with buffs? I can provide that information as well (in a few hours, rather).

Same formula, yes.
The stats and etc. just get added into their parts in the formula.

K. Thanks guys! It's really confusing, but I'll try to figure it out.

1.3(4*557+107)*102/100 = 2381
Clean:
1548~2381

Buffed:
2478~3813

Both of those are lower than my current, and it's adding to my range...

Then you gave me wrong info.

Give me your total weapon attack, DEX, %stat, and STR then I'll do it.

This is my stats with the helm on since that was what I needed to know.

Also is there an easy way to figure out the difference w/wo buffs? Because I will have a different level of Ignis Lore tomorrow as well to figure out buffed.

WATK: 102 (with DBG)
DEX: 559
% Stat (DEX): 3%

You add in the buffs or don't add in the buffs.
Really, this should be simple math.

Ignis Lore gives 40 Atk at max, so you add 40 Atk to your total if you want to include it.
If you're using lower levels, you add in however much it adds at that level.

The problem seems to be that you're not giving the right numbers/leaving things out.

It's not so much a problem to deserve having shortcuts developed, really. There are just... if I remember correctly, 5 or so arithmetic operations.

One suggestion for doing this is creating a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc, GoogleDocs Spreadsheet, etc...) and automate everything.

 How to do that
