He never implied cheating, he said going through a purist mentality, world tour and Masteria are off limits as they don't exist in canon (well masteria is debatable, but his reasoning for that is because it was somehow unaffected by the Big Bang.)

There's another reason, but this one's mostly fan theory right now.

Technically, while it MIGHT exist in the future (via Nexon taking it and upgrading it to be the next plot setting after we kick the Black Mage's arse into next week), it canonically doesn't exist at the moment. That last bit's foggy though, because although it exists in full form in gMS, it is robbed of its true glory in kMS.

However, if they stole the expansion from us and ripped it off, that might be because they're still aware Masteria exists, and they're going over Prose's notes while filling in those blanks, wondering "How the hell are we going to remake this and not have the Masteria purists get pissed at us?". And not to mention, right now they've got one ultimate baddie to worry about finishing (Black Mage) - they probably don't want the stress of having to juggle two villains and not see either one finished in the somewhat unlikely event that MapleStory kicks the bucket (if they go out, they might as well have FINISHED something content wise). And in the event they're still alive when the Black Wings saga ends? They can breathe a sigh of relief and finally get back to work on Masteria - in which case, it now becomes canon for Mercedes to even BE there, as she's finished her job over down south (looking at Masteria's in-game world map, which I forgot actually has one here - it actually would EASILY fit as either the right half of the area where Edelstein is, or a totally new continent up north) and Slimm sends her a request because of her badass history of being a hero(ine) who friggin saved the Maple World once, and now she's gotta do it again.

That's my opinion anyways, and it's fan theory, as Viaje would say. But in the event that this is what Nexon was thinking all along, I will eat spinach for one week if that happens.

I've levelled perfectly fine on my own without maps like that, but i don't look down on the people that do, levelling is boring as pineapple and if you can shave a few hours off it, why not?

Using a map modified by hacks can never be anything other than illegit, but come on, let each do what they want.

I don't see why anyone is putting so much stock into this topic. The days of competing for 1st ranked anything are long gone because it holds no value anymore since so many people are lvl 200 (this was the only reason I could see for the conversation to be taking place).

Aside from rushing as fast as I could to get to lvl 120 to wear my bowgun, arrow, gloves, and pendant, I have no intention of rushing to get to 200...I am going to enjoy this class and not concern myself with what others do. Between the hackers and the people who have all the free time in the world, it's not worth stressing over. I personally think if someone is freaking out over what level someone is already, or how they achieved that level in so quick a time, their reasons for playing the character in the first place are so warped that they should just quit while their ahead (or not ahead lol).

Update for anyone who cares: got to 120 last night...put 1 SP into Ishtar, Spikes, and Moonsault...basically just about pissed my pants at the craziness that is this class lol...chose Dual Bowgun Expert as my lvl 30 book to get from the Admin and maxed out my Smithing to get enough coins for 3 MMBs from the coin shop...managed to get Spikes Royale 20 and Ancient Spirit 20 from 2 of them (other was Elquines lol). I plan on maxing out Bowgun Expert then going to Spirit from there since I have the level 20 book already.

I really like the Mercedes job, it's what i always expected Dual Bladers to be.
Dual Bladers were a massive disappointment to me, sure it does lots of hits and is pretty fast compared to some of the other jobs, but all of the skills just seemed too clunky and gimmiky for me to enjoy them, basically every move had a tiny delay after them which just made using combo skills awful, and there was so much spamming of one skill, be it Upper Stab or Slash Storm/Bloody Storm.

Mercedes however has purely fluid skills, pretty much every single skill is fast and can be linked immediately into another skill, and most of the skills do not lose their usefulness in later job advancements, making it a strong, versatile, fast and fun class which i've had fun playing, much more fun than other jobs.

I won't go out of my way to avoid it like I used to, if I join a party and the map's spawn is suspiciously high, whatever. It's just the nature of finding parties now - if you don't want crap solo exp, you go where the other players are.

Realized why I don't like Mercedes. It's all too automatic in play style, feels as if it takes no effort at all to be any good like most classes on this game. Feels like the game is playing itself and I am just there to watch like most new Sonic games.

I'll continue it until level 71 and see how it is in third job, though my cannoneer is more fun...Monster Hunter Tri is also more fun..5 billion times more so than this game...
