Fun fact: There are some hacker kiddies who feel it necessary to disconnect people over a meaningless spot. I got hit by one of em in Mushroom Empire (over a friggin Renegade Spore spot).

I thought he was bluffing when he threatened us, but then he froze my game (thankfully he didn't try to hack me - his threat, even if real, was quite tame) - which I process-terminated out of.

'Course the first thing I did when I got back on was report the friggin bastid. And then I challenged his hacker ethics - why disconnect people over so insignificant a spot? I could see if it was Discs/MP3/Skellies/Scarecrows/ToT/Lionheart, but Renegade Shrooms? Seriously?! Not to mention the map had a piss poor training layout, and if he was out for spores he could've just picked up table scraps.

But no, this guy has the nerve to disconnect anyone who is in his space and channel if they don't CC when he demands them to.

In the end the guy CC'd. Whether Nexon beheaded the guy via ban or not, I don't know.

Unrelated note, but on-topic: I am officially the first Dark Elf (AKA Black Mercedes) that I've seen thus far on Windia. 'Tis my Christmas present to myself. Of course, I probably intend to go all the way unlike Mechanic (which failed dismally when somehow it got deleted - how I don't know or remember) - most likely because Orca's involved, and I need to tie up some loose ends with the brat.

Oh yeah, Athena Pierce is older than Mercedes, btw. Apparently the Black Mage's curse stops your aging when it's in full effect, meaning that essentially Mercedes is age-locked when the first fight's over. Of course, Athena's sister, Danika, ain't pleased with that at all.

That's how Aran apparently lived through the passing of time after the First War - because as Mercedes and the Elders put it, he'd be dead by now if that weren't the case, since he's human. Quote Philius:

We're Elves. Time is on our side.


Though in some cases, that would actually backfire. Like in Danika's case: Her sister literally caught up to her in size, power, and smexiness (in the second instance, it's confirmed by Danika that Athena's actually stronger than her now, what with the curse also weakening her).

One last thing before I shut up:

Mercedes seems to act like a MapleStory player who thinks that Maple's still in Open Beta during her initial story. Loved her reaction towards Wing (though I wished she would've bitchslapped him for good measure - that would've been more hilarious).

If we get it, it'll be this Saturday, and we'll most likely get both hats because they're both in data.

You're probably right that it'll be this weekend, but don't go throwing a fit if Nexon doesn't give us the hat(s) as you seem to do that quite often when Nexon "messes" with your precious Mercedes.

Oi oi oi, calm down Link. That being said, who here has actually fought Orca so far? If so, can you confirm whether her real English name is Orca or Orchid?

The quests are so zapped apart that I feel like I'm gonna fight Orca before or soon after 3rd advancement. It really feels..... unfair that Mercedes doesn't have a fully spanning storyline - Mushking Empire made sense in that Mercedes was helping a fellow nation, much like Cygnus was helping someone much wiser and much more experienced than her; however, Kerning Square made ZERO sense to her storyline. Seriously, what does she gain in helping some random dude become an epic phailure of a pop star, ruled by copyrights? If anything, Kerning Square seemed like VERY out of place filler in her storyline (would've made more sense if Mercedes was helping the Nymphs in Orbis - at least THAT makes sense, since it would connect with her race's siblings - from 1-30 we sorta mingle with the Sylphs, and from 35-50 we help the Nymphs).

Since an Orbis questline would have EASILY been able to connect to Chryse in that technically speaking Orbis and Chryse are distant neighbors, not to mention Ericsson is a messenger of the Gods of the Nymphs (that's how I see it anyways).

Then from there, the Hiver confrontation would play out, and it would culminate in an epic showdown with Orca in Edelstein, bringing Mercedes' solo timeline to a close as she reunites with Aran, discovers present-day Freud(AKA Evan), and somehow bumps into Phantom during all this mess.

That kind of questline would've been so much more epic, I'd main the Hero classes for the rest of my life if they did that.

That's what i was thinking, a lot of Mercedes quest text seemed to break the 4th wall slightly and have a commentary about how different the game is now

Ehhh, I see your point. Still, Nexon failed in regards to giving MapleStory a coherent and believable story. Let's hope they FIX that when Phantom's story is launched at the end of the year. Because a Legend without a serious, game-spanning storyline is not only wrong, it eliminates the significance of them being Legendary Heroes in the first place.

Not to mention, when this is all over, they need to make Legend characters an unlockable deal. I mean, kMS has one thing right regarding restriction of the Legends (though I assume this only applies to Evan, Mercedes, and POSSIBLY Phantom) - Legends are supposed to feel special. What use is there to adding Legends to the game if they're just more powerful versions of Explorers? Doesn't that sorta defeat the purpose of Explorers?

IMO, make mini-questlines that result in you being able to create a Legend character in-game (in much the same way that Cygnus Knights used to be when they debuted) - these Legends have no restriction on your basic character limit, whilst Explorers, Expanded Explorers, Cygnus Knights, and Resistance DO.

Matter of fact, bring back the in-game character creation for Cygnus Knights. And add it to Resistance too. This way you can choose to go out of your way to work for the coolness/OPness of Resistance/Cygnus. This would not only place Explorers back on the whole importance standings, but in addition, it makes it so that involving yourself in MapleStory's storyline is OPTIONAL, unlike how it sorta seems to be now. I mean, really, what incentive is there these days to an Explorer when Explorers lose a lot of the freedom and uniqueness that makes them so awesome? (Specifically, not having the Black Mage ruin their fun romp around Victoria Island, and losing the Masteria storyline exclusivity. - although Masteria is another issue entirely that needs its own discussion on how to retcon it without losing too much of its original value).

Whose idea was it to make Dual Bowguns a 2 handed weapon despite having arrows in the shield slot. It tricked me into wasting my legend coins on one-handed scrolls >_>

Alright, so I got my mercedes to 70 yesterday evening and used her on my main. Turns out the buff only gives you an active teleport and 10% exp.

Wow, I thought we would be able to give out Elven Blessing (the buff with 1 atk speed, etc etc). So dissapointed right now =/ I didnt want to lvl her in 3rd job because I dont like 3rd job skills at all.

Does anyone know if Demonslayer has a buff to give out as well?

Elven Blessing = Teleport to Elluel and +10% exp.
Elven Grace = 1 atk speed and such.

The skill that you transfer is always a beginner skill marked with the big green link button. As for Demon Slayers, you can get +10% boss damage.

Orchid is Orca. Lotus I think the twin is called.

Killer whales are also commonly called Orca, so I thnik she is a behemoth of the see. Pretty in her human false form, a fat and ugly sea cow in her true form.
