Monsters Not Dropping Mesos
#1
Sorry if this is in the wrong section

Ever since the server check yesterday whenever I'm on my BM and kill monsters they never drop mesos. I tested it for probably 2 hours and multiple places and I only got 1 meso drop and I'm pretty sure it was because someone else did the majority of damage to it. I then went on a few of my other characters and they would get meso drops. My close friend then let me get on his BM and the same problem occured. I even switched computers and it was still happening. Yesterday was the first day in a very long time that I actually killed something with my BM and I was wondering if this was happening to anyone else and if someone knew how to fix it.

You probably killed something low level. Since Ascension Update monsters like 10-20 lvls below you will only drop etc.

To protect from bots, but whatever, it's common.

Yeah I'm level 134 and was killing monsters to get familiar cards. They were around level 70. Thanks for the quick reply and I'm glad to know it wasn't some bug or something.

Yeah, it's the anti-botting system that, ironically, gave botters an edge on normal players. You won't be getting anything but etc items and some common potions on your Bow Master unless you kill something really close to, or above, his/her level. After level 150, the anti-botting system stops nerfing the item drop and exp gain from monsters, but anything under will continue being stingy.

Lol doesn't it always.

Well now I'm bummed out. I came back to maple a week ago to find out I was hacked and I was going to go to my long time meso-making monsters to get some money, but I guess I have to find another way to gain mesos. Any suggestions?

Make a Cygnus Knight, train them at Master Death Teddies once you hit 105-110. Keep training them there, even after 120. You'll get Angelic Blessing Ring recipes and you can't hit the drop decrease level.

If you're patient enough for it, then I suggest to do what Raul said; however, if you just need some fast mesos for something, then the NLC monsters are unaffected by the anti-botting system, meaning Leprechauns are still a viable option for farming a quick million or two.

What Raul said sounds great, but I am looking for relatively quick mesos and I don't have a pet on my cygnus which really deters me (I know, it's pathetic). Also I'm looking forward to making a mercedes on Monday I'll probably do that when my mercedes is in that level range. I'm glad to hear Leprechauns are unaffected because I used to love going there with my pet and Pheonix and just let them do most of the work while I played Xbox or something. Glad to know I still can. I've always wondered if that counts as botting or something... oh well. Right now I'm just looking to make a couple mil to buy the ores to make my mercedes' equips and Leps sound perfect for that. Thank you both for your input.

I have a question about familiars which I posted as an edit in another of my threads. (Seems like I really missed out during the few months I didn't play). I haven't gotten a reply in the other thread so here it is.
I was wondering if two familiars had the same skill, would it matter what level they are? For example Axe Stumps(Level 17) and Desert Rabbit(M) (Level 68) both have the skill description "While summoned, consumes vitality to regularly produce a small amount of mesos." Both of them also have a familiar rank of 0. I think I remember reading only the familiar rank changes the amount of the description but would like clarification.

Only familiar rank changes, the level of the monster just effects the mobs it can hit and with what damage.

You can still use a snail at lvl 200 and still be able to hit anything at Stronghold. You just need to be the same lvl or higher than the familiar and you can use it. You would almost always find higher lvl mobs doing greater damage though (not sure if you want to count mutant ribbon pigs that can do 50-60k x 3 per mob which is a different approach).

you could also just farm coins and scroll godly weapons and sell them. Legendary spirit is like 100k mesos instead of all that junk, so you can scroll dual guns or cannons for profit. Only problem of course being coins, but with 100 of them, you can basically scroll a +7 cannon and sell it to people via Basil.

That or you can solo pap everyday. just make sure to get a crack mule so you can do it twice. I use the power elixers as potions there so I make a profit guaranteed (since i use like 5 per run depending on 1/1). Loot everything, sell in the shop = 1 mil per run easy. Of course I'm a buccaneer, so we tend to have things like invincibility frames, so you may use more potions than me, but since you're a bowmaster I assume you know how to solo pap without taking significant damage.

I tend to have really bad scrolling luck but I'll try farming coins and see if anything has changed. I totally forgot about pap! I'll have to start doing runs again. It's been ages since I last fought him.
