Original Dragon Nest Thread

It's pretty much the fact that if I get hit by anything during an animation, it stops the animation. It's also difficult for me to avoid damage during a long animation if I can't make a mob flinch first. I can handle a bunch of smaller mobs, it's just difficult for me to handle big guys with tons of super armor.

what skills are you using? i mean, there are only 3 big things you really need in there, moonlight splitter sniping (no super armor) which you use from far to hit either one or both at the same time, tornado, which works great when you are near a wall (aim at stumpy mostly), since the ogre will rush at you and still be hit by the nado, or get stuck behind stumpy. and the big 5-wave skill thing.

you can use dodge+dash combo to move behind a boss fast, eclipse for a quick damage, if you feel confident use hacking stance, and dodge with the dashes (probably won't dodge the headbutt from the ogre though) and that -def skill that i can't remember the name of.

when both are close to death, wave them both in a single slash and done. anything survives, moonlight splitter into 3 slash

I've been getting really good lately at PvP. practicing a lot

I actually beat the I think rank 4 person on the ladder in 1v1 a few times (ooDadaoo). If anyone wants to practice just message me. I'm going to push ladder ranking soon after I polish up my skill.

i've been reading up a bit on modding, and would like to give it a try (nice way to be creative) but damn, too much science for me >.<

Practice in non-ladder since ladder accounts for gear and gear can have a huge impact on a match.

From what I've seen, most competitive matches (like you would find in tournaments) also take off gear so no suffixes activate, and they play by a blacklist of skills e.g. no iron skin on mercenaries

Though apparently I heard summon comet is blacklisted for mystics. Is there even a reason why?

Summon Comet is freaking slow and I can't imagine that Mystics even have that many good skills to combo with in PvP even without Summon Comet, what the heck?

On a side note, anyone know if PvP is seperated by world, or could you challenge anyone from any world? I know I mentioned wanting to 1 VS 1 PvP as a Priest (lol) a few weeks back, but I kinda stopped that due to Skyrim.

i beat him in non-ladder. I haven't stepped into a ladder match at all. I did meet this INSANE merc yesterday morning though. I could get him into combos and stuff, but he made sure I paid for my mistakes heavily.

ladder wouldn't really bother me anyways since my gear is up to par with most of the ladder players

And as for summon comet, I have no idea why it's banned. The only reason I can think of is because it has extremely high super armor breaking capabilities.

I have to say.. paladins are fking STUPID in ladder matches. Weren't these shield immunities supposed to be blacklisted? Every person I face in ladder was using hacking stance, parry stance, that pally shield thing, iron skin, ice shield, or whatever.

I was spectating some ladder matches and saw this SS just beating on this cleric for like 5 minutes and you can see the damage and healing that each player does. His self heal does like 9k and his healing relic ticks for like 1.5k. It was completely stupid. I faced the same dude and just could not kill him. I was got him into a full roll attack + whirlwind with howl up and was just comboing him forever and the dude would just not die -_-". He was like 1950 rated.

That's Priests for you. We can't combo and evade to save our lives, but man can we heal.

(We actually start out each PvP match with something like 50k HP. That's... A bit much, but necessary considering our evasion is next to nothing in 1 VS 1 PvP. Paladins, on the other hand...)
