Yes, I'm in denial due to my extreme emotional investment in the game/some particular class that I couldn't admit is a failure/the stars are aligned just right.

Go take another look at the mage and warrior numbers JoeTang has put together, then be sure to come back and give your misinterpretation of them.

I don't know pomegranate about archers, it's true, but even if Mercedes pisses all over the others, 1/3 isn't close to all.

Actually, you can only have one skill from each job level active in your Skill Management, and when you switch it, that buff disappears. i.e. in Spadow's video, he has Haste on. He switches the key to Double Stab, and his Haste disappears. They're probably better DPS than Bow Masters, and thus all Thieves with Hurricane though.

I guess you're ignoring Past Leafre and Ellin Forest's expansion based on technicalities.
Though, to be honest, I'm not so sure what's exciting about new grinding areas anyway since they don't actually offer any new play style like party quests and the like tend to do.

LHC basically WAS a city. Well, a castle, but a castle is as good as a city. Lots of quests, new mobs, a story, and even its own boss. Impossible to not include it. I have no idea what Past Leafre includes, I must have missed it. Feels like something I would've seen if it was extensive at all. Going to look it up and then edit this.

Edit: Okay, had no idea that existed. That's huge. Ellin definitely doesn't count because it's like 2 new monsters.

But, as I said, I'll be more surprised to ever find a quest in Maplestory to be exciting.

Both Ellinia Forest and Past Leafre have their own questline and bosses though.

So I was thinking about it:

Does anyone else think Nexon is trying to...... "Valerie-ize" female Aran?
Valerie started off as just being the female pirate art, but as of the 8th anny , she became a low impact NPC. If we think of this with the 8th anny video, it seems a bit odd that f!Aran is the only PC character there, unless Nexon has had a plan to make her into a NPC like the rest of the dancers, and just don't know how to confront it.

They even use her with Valerie and Tanika to promote events and such.

Maha even claims Aran to be a male while playing a female character.

Maybe they are just trying to make her some sort of NPC but having a hard time with it? They did it with Valerie, but she's an adventure and not that hard to push in there.
Just some personal thoughts on this.

I am happiest to see Ereve playing a part in this. I can't wait for the plot!

Arans have the best mobbing DPS of any Warrior bar Demon Slayer, but Demon Slayer is much more efficient at it in practice. There's absolutely no way an Aran can beat a Demon Slayer in training purely because of how fast Demon Slash is and how much Burst DPS any Force skill does.

Meh. They're not that awesome.

Mercedes are amazing. Purely opinionated, but regardless of their DPS, I find their play-style significantly more enjoyable than any other class I've played. And their DPS is monstrously high.


I did some more digging and found out that Ultimate Drive hits 3 times, making it still lower %/s than any other primary 4th job attack in the game I believe.

I have mixed feelings about Ultimate Drive. Its so cool that I'd play this job so I can use this skill, but it is so unfair that this job got such a skill while buccaneers always dreamed of it.

Anyway, I think Phantom's charm is built in that every person can addapt it to their personal likes. Some can choose mobility and steal skills like haste and rush (If they don't already have a rush-like skill), others that want damage could go with something like combo attack and paladin charges?. People that wants defense can steal HB, arrow drain, and so on. I personally like their attack animations so I'd just steal buffs to improve damage and help surbavility seeing how fragile it seems.

So thief hero = poopy?

Since shadow partner is unavailable, would combo attack and hurricane be the best way for dps?

1 skill can be activated for every job.

Such as:
1st job: 1 skill can be activated.
2nd job: 2 skills can be activated.
3rd job: 3 skills can be activated.
4th job: 4 skills can be activated.
