and go figure... typical khainiwest ad hominem. I should have said "inb4 KhainiWest" because you don't miss a chance to stick up for for this game.

..Sticking up where? I was just laughing at once again, how you refer to world of warcraft. And it's not an ad-hominem because I'm not attacking you. I'm simply suggesting you don't go out much when you consider "$150" a picture worthy event...let alone vacation...

i spend 20 bucks going out with my pals to see a movie, you don't have to waste 150 bucks+ every time, which i'm sure is what he meant.

not spending much =/= not going out much.

"To see a movie" I'm pretty sure using 150$ includes going to clubs and getting hammered, which easily adds up. It might be because i'm danish but i know a ton of people using 1000 danish kroner every weekend on going out.

That may be another reason why I don't spend much; I don't go to bars, because drinking isn't something I do socially. Or alone. I'm jealous of people that feel good after getting some liquor into them; I can hold a TON of alcohol without any effect, then suddenly, straight to hangover, nothing in between. Besides a slightly numb sensation in my face, I guess. ;_;

maybe in the US, where i come from you're spending that much money getting hammered, only people taking pictures will be the forensics.

$150 is barely enough to cover ONE bottle of liquor in a club where I am lol. (NYC)

My nights are pretty much: watch a movie, eat out, bowling/shooting range, which can cost me, alone, up to 80-110$ depending on what we do. I'm not saying $150 is a minimum but it certaintly isn't a lot either

Edit: Also as for clubbing i go like twice a year and that runs me up like $400 lol. There aren't any good clubs in the annapolis area so I have to go drive down to effin dc. lol

And 1.000 dollars would not even cover my monthly expenses such as food and rent.
Sure, a grand aint small fry, but people, please stop acting like it is the difference between being rich and living in the gutter. It aint even half a months salary from a normal job, at least not in Sweden. That said, I would not spend that much on MS.

Huh? You think drinking for 150$ will kill you? o_O sure if you're set on buying the cheapest cheap booze and get as hammered as possible without caring about anything but that, but drinking in a club quickly becomes very, very expensive.

Clubs aren't really the same as bars, though. They are more about being a "place to be around people with a side of drinking" than being a "place to drink with a side of people being there". People are a much more expensive commodity than alcohol, and the people at the door know that very well.

They do have pretty colorful money o_O, but I kinda wanted to chime in on the whole, " omg y he waste monies!" since maple is a form of entertainment I will compare it to something relevant. Ever buy tickets to a concert or sporting event? This is the equivalent to buying front row seats so to say. Sure most times we only spend enough to get the nosebleed seats because we can enjoy the game with just that, but if people enjoy the form of entertainment enough they will put out even more money. Happens all the time and you say what if he gets hacked? There's always a risk involved with anything lets say what if you get mugged leaving your car to go to an event or concert and get all your stuff stolen? 9 times out of 10 your s.o.l unless you fight the bastard off or have a police officer handy. If the kid is living within his means then wutevs cool that he can buy 1k and cool shades it up.

There isn't a concert or sports game on earth that i would rather tank $1000 into over this game. I doubt even E3 or even CES is that much.

going by US prices, no.
going by panama prices, unless you're drinking on "moet & chandon" champagne, 150 is enough to cover you and 2 friends.

Buying stuff at E3/CES/a con. But even then, that stuff is permanent. And tangible.

The only things I have a weak spot for are figs. Which is why I have none of them; if I ever started collecting them it would be the end of me. :l
