DrRusty Wrote:how do you spend $150 in 1 night without taking a single picture? If you can afford spending that much on drinks for everyone, then you should be able to afford a phone that can take a picture.

I don't see much point in taking pictures when it's not a special occasion. If it's the same old bunch doing the same old stuff, any picture that got taken wouldn't make it into my album anyway.
But I suppose that's a matter of personal taste.

Well, that's a whole different issue.
If you're saying, "Don't buy NX because Nexon can't keep your account safe", that's a valid concern.
However, most people in this thread are just saying (or implying), "spending money on pixels" or "spending money on a game" is wasteful by definition. And I say, it's no more wasteful then going bowling.

I have no problem with spending money on NX if your account couldn't be compromised randomly. I see it as no different than someone who has 15 different xbox games. It's just you get your enjoyment out of a single game rather than switching games like a slutty girl switches boyfriends.

I mean, I think $900 is kind of excessive considering even a lot of games for a system wouldn't come close to that, but oh well. If that dude lost his account the next day, he would lose all of that money and have no way to get it back.

Define "needlessly".

Can you honestly say that everything you buy is the cheapest possible option for accomplishing a necessary utilitarian goal?

There's no fine line for being reckless with money and conservative, and that line does change depending on a person's circumstances, but damn if that 15 year old kid didn't go WAY the hell over his line

Also @Sapta

It's not about spending money on entertainment. You want to spend $1000 on something you enjoy? Go nuts. It's about giving NEXON $1000 when 1. they don't care about their products 2. they don't care about you 3. if something goes wrong, despite having given them $1000 they will not help you out in any way.

I'm assuming this video is fairly new and if so there's a good chance that that guy is going to get hacked sometime in the future and Nexon certainly won't do anything about it. $1000 well spent.

Unlike spending money on something you enjoy, this is the equivalent of giving a rich guy money to watch him wipe his ass with it. And then he'll spit on you as he walks past.

Well i hope he didn't spend it all in a few hours like i used to do with NX runs.

Not going to get into the ethics of spending this money because it's a stupid topic. Whether he stole it or whored himself out or got it legit, it doesn't affect us.

I spend a couple hundred dollars per year on entertainment max. A large purchase for me is over 100 dollars. Hiring people to do repairs on broken things is nonexistent, we do everything ourselves, from building to fixing plumbing to fixing broken hardware, we just order the parts online if they are cheap, or if they are too expensive just disassemble whatever the electronic device may be and save the working parts for something else. It's not even like my family is poor, they both make $100K+ a year, I was just raised to be extremely frugal.

It's disgusting because of the fact he's spending all that money on such a fucking BROKEN "free" game where microtransactions completely run everything now. That, and the game provider has god awful customer service that it's addicts like that guy who allow Nexon to just profit from Maplestory and not give a pomegranate whether or not people get hacked or there are exploits left and right.

I feel such pity for those who will drop so much money and then spend it on cubes. For aesthetics I'm more forgiving because that's actually a fun part of Maplestory - the character customization. But when they add a gambling item that has become the main way to boost your equipments' stats and people will constantly buy more and more just to get the desired stats it's just...there are better things to spend your money on than trying to make that orange number above a monster's head go higher. It's just disgustingly uneconomical.

Goddammit Sarah beat me to it. I was at school.

That also explains my stupid question earlier, as I actually did not see the video.

Wonder how many of those didn't work? LOLOLO

I had my fair share of NX Cards not working...and nothing happening.

Made me feel better by spending 300 bucks to get my estaff then another 300 to enhance it eight times..not counting potentials F3

I don't get why people make it such a big deal about giving Nexon money... You wouldn't even be able to play the game because it wouldn't even exist if no one bought NX.

You could spin that another way. If no one gave Nexon money, maybe they would make steps to improve their games to get money.

Someone wasn't around for the Wizet era.

I'm relatively confident that if things went downhill they would just ditch and run. Although, now that they are getting that IPO they can't do that as easily...I'm not sure what they would do, honestly.

It's probably sad that I'm not too shocked about this. I was more interested in Australia's colourful money.
