I like to think of the genders mentioned in GMS are the canon genders as far as PC's goes. As for Kyrin/Athena/other NPC's that are unfortunate enough to be labeled as a he, they basically write one script (Probably favoring Dances, as warriors are programmed first in the system.) and make the name a variable that changes based upon the PC's class. This si why they are labeled as a he with adventures, but when you play as a hero and they talk about Athena, she is referred to as a she.

Sure.

This is a Korea game, where anything is possible.
Besides, if the twin were to be a playable legend, then it'd be any gender regardless. :l

So the only problem with the MAPLE theory is the name. Interesting, haha Tongue I'm quite convinced that Su/Lotus is the Legend now, especially since (s)he went missing around Demon Slayer's time. Orca/Orchid said she was serving as a replacement, iirc. And that picture with the brightness up is pretty convincing.

This is taking from the definition of the justice card from the fool's journey
Quote:The Fool must now decide what this vision means to him personally. He looks back over his life to trace the cause and effect relationships that have brought him to this point. He takes responsibility for his past actions so he can make amends and ensure a more honest course for the future. The demands of Justice (11) must be served so that he can wipe the slate clean.

This is a time of decision for the Fool. He is making important choices. Will he remain true to his insights, or will he slip back into an easier, more unaware existence that closes off further growth?
the choice mentioned may be that lotus/su will finally reveal himself to the world that he once was the thief hero that escaped from the dark magician's magic. Being a master of disguise through the fate of his cards (if this makes sense), he was able to disguise as orca's twin (but not really her twin) and fooled everyone. seeing that the union is rising against the dark magician, he takes initiative to give them insiders and aid to fight the dark magician. with this theory, the update can also bring new contents as lotus/su lead the union to the area surrounding the dark magician's lair, and possible hint at the pirate hero since the dark magician can have some info on him

If I'm not mistaken, male pronouns in English can be used as a generic pronoun when referring to a person of ambiguous/unknown gender.

True!

And I will now step out of this gender conversation with one final thing to say:
Nexon seems to like having ratios of 2:3 (Female:Male). The instructors for adventures reflects this, same with the instructors for Resistance and KoC. The heroes, on the other hand, only have themselves to display. We currently have Aran, Evan and Mercedes. Now, if we take the information in game of Testonen, which was slightly confirmed to still be around by saying that Kyrin was born by Yuris in the Ellin Forest around the time of the heroes by Aran's plot line, we can confirm him (or his successor, whichever route they pick) to be the third male. Regardless of the name, Kyrin's father is seemingly going to be the original pirate hero. This said, I am going to assume Nexon is not going to change their ratio balance and I believe this hero will be female.

I will now wait for the 8th and see if they make her a female or pull a forever ambiguous on us.

Aran was a 'male' for how long until they decided to use it's female version for everything else? o-o

They have only used the female version in the animations that were promos, with little plot relevance. The only throw off aspect is her role in the maple union in game, while in past leafre, Aran was clearly a male.

[just thought id say this
if you look at the mysterious man in the trailer and then at the crad he gives to evan/freed
u can see the male angel is wearing the same clothes as the mysterious man
perhaps thats is the thief hero in the card
i dunno who the lady is with him
and i think this might confirm that we acctually is a guy?
just speculating

Or it could just be the Lovers card. The new class is probably going to revolve around Tarot cards

The card is another throw off. It shows a similar outfit on the male in the card, but the thief clearly has blonde hair, not brown as seen in the card. there is going to be a story with that card.
