anyone else think that utility wise, level 7 Jr-Boogies are totally overpowered?

>restores a large amount of mp constantly while summoned

using one, my battlemage has basically infinite mp

Really?
I've been using Jr Boogie on my new Dawn Warrior, and if I'm running around spamming Soul Blade, I do need to supplement with the occasional MP potion. More so if I'm doing some Soul Rush as well.
I wonder if the "large amount" varies? Mine seems to restore about 110 MP every time.

It's some set percent (15% is what I recall), I remember reading about the utility of Jr. Boogie and its friends Mr. Alli, Mutant Snail and the like over at Basil. Drip, drip, apparently Water.

I was hoping that was not the case. Not that I really care, I just use the default name. Rolleyes

lols, then mechanics will have infinite MP.

Siege mode doesn't use mp per shot and neither does tank's basic attacks. The only mp cost is an mp over time cost and switching modes. (And summons of course). I"ll make note to grab myself one of these guys.

NEXON made this crappy time system pretty good. It sucks you have to collect again but eh..at least they didn't disappear.

How is that good? I find that having an actual summon is a bit more appealing than a greyed out symbol in a book. I'm not spending years collecting useless trading cards, it's only worth collecting if you get some real benefit from it, to me. I'm hoping they will be forced to make them perma once we get the familiar updates for potential/fusing, but honestly it's possible they will try to BS their way out and just link the potential/fusion to the friggen greyed out symbol, so you'll have to find the thing again just to get your potential and everything back. Ugh.

Would you rather have your hard work completely disappear? Say you had a boss up to level 3. Just went poof. Wouldn't that be worse?

No.
That's why it should be permanent.

Do you get any stat bonus from collecting all cards like from regular monster book?

Yeah. The more sets you collect the better your codex stats are.

This is why I won't bother with familiars. No long term benefit -> not worth the effort.

Edit: Ooops misunderstood the question. I meant the regular monster book. Getting more familiars won't get you anything.

I think he was asking if like the collecting of familars has some kind of stat value that is similar to collecting of monster cards. In which case the answer is No familars do not. Only benefit is you can summon more different things than someone else.

You won't bother with familiars at all? Or with collecting them all?

Some familiars are definitely worth the effort/price, even if temporary. For example, a month of 1.6x drop rate is worth working a bit for (or paying in FM for, if you prefer). Or the aforementioned Jr. Boogies, which despite being tagged "rare" are very easy to find (I think my newest char found 2 just doing the 12 Jr. Boogie Horn quest for the Rememberer).

I'm actually glad that collecting more familiars doesn't give you anything extra. That means it will only be done by true collectors who do it for personal satisfaction.

My PQ and LHC groups have a couple of Platoon Chronos familiars. With just 2-3 of them summoned, my 15x F/P never uses a single potion. I think some of the archers still use a couple of HP pots, but no MP pots, though that would be fixed if everyone had one out. +10% HP/MP party heal is quite nice, and it only took like 30-60 min per card to hunt. (Granted these drop times are with the Big Spider x1.6 drop buff, but that's another familiar well worth its hunting time *coughmonkeydollscough*)

This is why we can't have nice things.

Surprised how little people collect just to collect, like me.
I guess i shouldn't be surprised. I had to have my own buddy section for monster card collectors since it was a hobby to so few. I find it very fun, to be honest. At 61 familiars now.

How are you surprised? People only collect if there's a reward deemed for it, otherwise they claim it's a waste of their time and move on.
I like collecting things. OCD too strong.

Shrooms are 5% HP every 5 seconds or so, it's pretty nice. Red Snails are 10% HP every 5 seconds, but only on Vic.

I mention them particularly cause their droprates are like 50% so it's trivial to get 3 cards and have for 90 days, and some classes need HP regen more than MP.

On the other hand, get Mr. Allis, for BOTH 15% HP and MP... Perfect for mages, I guess.
