No, max your enchant skill. The first node has 5 slots. Put all five in that and you can get 25% per fortify. Four items and destruction = free.

High Archery skill + 20% bow damage ring + 20% bow damage bracers + 35% bow damage hat + Bound bow = Killing an elder dragon in 5-6 hits without getting hit. seriously.

Yeah I'm excited to test my new damage. I just have to forge a necklace and I'm done but I have 47% one hand/bow, 4 one hand 3 bow currently my daedric sword is 405 attack lol

Damage gets pretty ridiculous when you have a full set of 47-48% one hand / bow. Stunned
I had to turn my difficulty up to expert since I was 1 hitting pretty much everything with dual 550+ atk daedric swords.

Now I'm just running around with dual summons and blasting everything with the Ka-me-ha-me-ha lightning storm spell. Cool

Here are the master destruction spells for those of you who have not seen them.

How did you get 550? I assumed the highest it could get is 405?

EDIT: Oh dual wield, so it's adding the extra 50% right?

I crafted the swords with 28%x4 smithing gear and a +148% smithing potion.
Counting all of my one handed buffs I have +100% from perks, and +48%x4 from gear.
End result is a 557 damage daedric sword.

Took photos since I can't take screenshots on my Xbox.

Thanks Eos I'll try to do that.
Also I still don't understand how soul trap works I have soul empty soul gems but doesnt fill them it seems like, maybe I need bigger soul gem o.o, and elderscrolls wiki didnt say anything about reusing a black soul gem, so i guess it's a rare soul gem that can only be used once Frown.

Soul trap is easy.
You cast it on the victim and kill them before it wears off.
They then occupy the smallest available gem for their level.

You can't trap a human soul in any gem that isn't black. Only monsters, and only ones that actually have souls, no undead, no conjured stuff, no automata.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Realized that Skyrim was eating up all of my free time which i need for college, so i ruined the file for myself by glitching myself to max level. It's not fun anymore so i'm gonna start a new save once my college work is finished.

Genius.

That makes more sense, thank Eos helped me a lot lately xD.

Finally got around to playing this game. Rolled an archer/mage build, and now I'm level 16.

Is it just me, or are Destruction spells really lacking after a while? Aren't there stronger versions of the 'flamethrower-type' spells somewhere? Or are all of the higher level Destruction spells all runes and projectile spells? Destruction spells at this point feel really underwhelming now in terms of damage, unless I'm supposed to find gear that boosts their damage or something.

The equipment variety in this game is awesome. Oblivion didn't have gear that enhanced your weapon damage and so on, just stuff that fortified your skills and stats. I already found a heavy armor glove from this bandit settlement that enhanced my bow damage by 25%, as well as a mask that boosted it a further 20% from this undead mage near a word wall out in the open at the top of a mountain.

(Oh boy, killing that dragon was easier than killing the mage right after it. I do not believe that I was supposed to be able to kill that mage at Level 10 or something, but I found an area where he simply wouldn't attack me, letting me pelt him with like a hundred arrows before he finally died.)

Also, I explored most of the southeastern side of Skyrim. And then...

random guy in Ivarstead taven challenges me to a drinking match

This game is kicking my arse too. Quite refreshing after Oblivion, where I probably only died like a total of three times throughout the entire game (and I mean every quest), and all three deaths involved stupid crap like accidentally falling off cliffs/towers and falling into lava/outright dying.

Our floor owns this game, we have... 8 different save files. Someone overwrote the save file of the guy who had his own house, loads of awesome weapons, a dagger that can cast death, level 50 smithing and enchanting, level 80 one-handed, etc.

I'm a level 8 mage-conjurer thing that chose high elf. ;_;

oh good lord krosis, we've been killed by that thing seven times collectively

Easy tip to deal with Krosis (and probably all the other Dragon Priests too):
The Atronach Stone, which absorbs magic spells completely at a 50% rate, so a lot of his attacks won't do any damage at all

Better spells become available from shops as you level your destruction skill. The rune and bolt-type spells are only Apprentice level spells, and their are 3 more tiers above that. (I posted a vid of master spells a few post back.)

In the early levels, destruction spells are pretty weak unless you dual cast them and you have the perks to boost their damage.

Markarth is just gorgeous. I can never go there again after what I did there in the Dwemer Museum.

And to your other question, what is the highest level of Destruction spell you've obtained? Apprentice? Novice? Adept?
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

My best spells are Firebolt and Fire Rune, which are Apprentice spells. Can't seem to find any higher spells, but then again, I haven't visited that College of Winterhold yet. All I want now is a better close range flamethrower-type spell. I still find myself using the basic Flames spell as it seems more efficient than the other two.

So better spells become available in shops as your magic skills go up? That's different.

It's nice that my super knowledge of Oblivion mechanics isn't really helping me much in Skyrim, especially on the magic front.
