Quote:Seeing as the male mage is gonna create pages on its own I decided to create a new thread dedicated to the information related to the new area as well as new towns.
So apparently the new town will be the capital city: Shonan.
NPCs are:
Shonan Aska - King/Queen/Ruler of Shonan and Genius Fighter (Still not sure if it's THE shonan considering there's an entire country called it now...)
Siran - Yes, the legendary swordsman who's image you see during the questline at Butterfly's dance.
Woo - Siran's disciple
Jun - Shonan Blacksmith
I can't tell for certain which NPC it was but one thing's for certain. They got the voice actor from the main story quest in Blade and Soul to do either Woo's or Aska's voice.
Edit: I take that back. Almost certain it was Aska. Needless to say, the Japanese will refer to her as Asuka (あすか, so I personally won't give a crap about which spelling you use since they're supposed to be pronounced the same way anyway.
4 new Dungeons:
GBL Goddess Temple (seems that the joke that GBL stands for God Bless ****** is standing true...)
Boss: Corrupted Arsol? (gonna work on this later)
Foggy City: Haze (Could probably be translated better to Hazy city or something to that regard, but this is the name they gave it. City of Haze also works.)
Boss: "Stick Ban Platin"....? (Kinda wanna say it's Stick Bomb Platin but it's actually written like that in quotes)
Dendroid Breeding Grounds
Boss: Woody Plant (Not making this up. That's apparently the name. It's transliterated too)
City of Showdowns: Arden
Boss: Eye of Daybreak Enzo Sipo (If you're wondering where you could've seen those guns before, go look up the 55 unique musket: eye of daybreak. He's basically dual wielding those)
Finally. Act 10 is supposed to be called Immortality. Using that as well as the mage quote I'm guessing 3rd or 4th class is going to be a dark damage dealer, even though we already have FOUR characters who already do that.
I will admit that I always laughed at the idea of male mages (mostly because of that horribad fanart posted above) but those videos actually make them seem pretty cool. I am surprised.

While the majority/mainstream of the magicians of Brooklyn (part of Pandemonium) made various of magic communities to share their knowledge and improve their magics, in the rural part of Bronx (part of Pandemonium), new style of magic was made to either survive from the monsters of Pandemonium or to rob other people of Pandemonium.
This extreme style of magic was only created to eliminate the enemies.
People of Bronx, however, did not have the academic knowledge that people of Brooklyn had.
Because of that, their magics had low success rate and less power.
And their magics were called as "Second-rated magics".
No one thought that the gap between those two could become smaller.
An unprecedented event happens and it changes everything.
Moa, a high magician from Kashipa, finds the existence of "Abyss".
Abyss was a source of energy that did not exist before
they suddenly appeared from nowhere
Moa found out that a person can get a tremendous amount of magical power by replacing
a part of their body with Abyss.
But the success rate of the replacement was very low and he did not have enough time to test the safety of Abyss. He was not able to find out the side effects that Abyss could have.
Moa refused to use Abyss to other people.
Unfortunately, the desire for power was greater than the fear.
A lot of people of Pandemonium wanted to transplant Abyss to have stronger magical powers.
Majority of them were members of Kashipa or the people that were suffered from the monsters of Pandemonium.
People who failed transplanting Abyss either died or became unable to use magic again.
But a few that could transplant Abyss successfully could acquire a tremendous of magical power.
Because of that, Kashipa could gain a lot of power.
With the mighty powers of Abyss-magicians, they could expand their territory to part of Brooklyn.
It caused one of the biggest political events of Pandemonium called "The First Pandemonium Meeting".
"Chaser" was found during this meeting.
The new styles of magic that were created by the power of Abyss were Elemental Bomb, Cross Counter, Glacial Mastery, Swift Mastery, Elemental Mastery (need better translation lol) , Mind Control, Hollow Hollows, Gravitation, Unsummoner, and others
Mage
Characteristic
When HP becomes 0, regeneration mode applies
won't die easily
recommended weapons: staff, rod, spear, pole
recommended armor: clothes
Elemental Bomber
They are ruthless magicians. When they spot the target, they use all the spells that they can use without thinking the possible results. They only stop attacking when they think that they destroyed the enemy. This kind of fighting style cannot be done without the backups of Abyss. The most special thing about them is that they can master all 4 elements. Because of that, their skills are very balanced and they don't usually master only one element.
Use very powerful attacks of 4 elements
specialized in area attacks (aoe attacks)
staff
cloth
Glacial Master
There is a land where all heats were stolen by monsters.
The land was frozen and no light or any other elements could reach the land beside ice.
A few people of Pandemonium, who live in that land where all other 3 elements are absent, studied the glacial magics til the limit.
They called themselves as Glacial Masters.
Just like their names, they were specialists of glacial (ice) magics and no one could use glacial magics like them.
But the most special thing is that they were the magicians that thought outside of the box.
Instead of performing ranged attacks, the glacial masters make the weapons of their imagination by using ice. (yes. just like that gray fullbuster or whatever his name is.)
By using Abyss, they can make various types of ice weapons.
Specialized in close ranged attacks.
rod
leather

Also lol at the ->male mage will not die at 0 health
and also male mages have a ranged xxx (spheres)
I'm curious as to the background of Male Fighter, as the trailer was as much background as I could find, considering how pretty much all of the new classes have some more in-depth background (Princess's guard for F.Gunners, mutated priest for avenger, male mages from a different (non-mainstream magic) part of New York(Bronx), and I haven't seen his pre-creation comic/manga strip either. This goes for thieves as well, but the subclass advancements give a little hint as to problems in the Dark Elves home or something (do we have the comic/manga strips yet?)
Also, since we're getting Shonan as an NPC, and Woo, the guy that epic from Lab mentions (Sayoung is the unknown disciple of Siran, that guy with IDS waves in that Blood Sands Heroes quest, but Woo is the famous/well known one) looks like more visible lore is coming our way.
Also congrats Sera.
Spoiler
Edit:
IN OTHER NEWS, MALE MAGES GET A GRAB SKILL. I AM RAGING THIS HARD.
Edit2:
So guys, apparently, all male mages get a second chance at life when their HP reaches 0. It regenerates 10 percent of your HP and MP after it activates and has a 10 sec CD in normal pve, 1 min cd in outers, and a 2min cd in pvp. This means that you have to kill a male mage twice in pvp automatically (kinda like a FoL that doesn't have a duration, but a long cd and is a passive). This also means that you can't really get killed in normal pve unless you're doing it intentionally. On the other hand, male mages don't get many buffs at all (or summons apparently, might show up in a new subclass though), so the chances that females are superior Damage Dealers is quite probable. Also, no phase shift. HOWEVER, they get an eight directional teleport that goes 400px x axis and 100 px y axis with a 1.5s cd.

The trailers are a bad representation of the classes in my opinion.
This is mostly my interpretation of the intro comic;
Male Fighter is a practitioner of the Suju Province's Fighting School.
He's shown as being reckless, rude, and lazy, even preferring to take naps instead of training, but with a good heart.
One night while he's sleeping, his school is ambushed by a clan of black masked whatevers. His mentor (Chuck Norris) dies (or slips into a coma or is seriously injured w/e) in his arms and in a rage he attacks the intruders, defeating them. The ringleader of the attackers isn't present.
He decides that it's his duty to avenge his mentor and bring justice to the school, so he speaks with an elder before taking off in pursuit.

all my money! I wonder when somefool will release a new glacial master video. I'm guessing they are our battle mages, and they are awesome. But do mages really revive every once in a while? I thought that was just for the test server. o-o

I read up a bit on that. Basically as a Male Mage feature, they can't die as long as they don't get killed while regenerating from the dead. It's got a 10 second cooldown for regular dungeons, 60 in Ancients/Outers, and 120 in PvP. Basically, you won't be needing tokens in regular dungeons ever again, and you can cheese through Ancients/Outers if dedicated enough. Yes, was interested enough on Male Mages to read up what they're capable of.
Something that would be sick for another subclass is instead of summoner he sort of transforms himself into monsters, or parts of his body into monster parts to fight. Would be a nice twist. Anyway, can't wait to see the other classes.
With the speed we're getting things, maybe we can get these next year?
