Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 General
This is what made me want to play him again:

At any rate, I'll probably learn some more dante first. Just a much better bet. Once people develop spidey more I'll play him again I guess. Or just after I have had enough of dante for a while.

Yikes. Time to add Dante to the character rotation!
Getting a little better with characters I used in vanilla, but still a long-ass ways away from being anywhere close to good, and the characters I just started using feel like I'm having a seizure when I play them. Practice mode =/= Arcade/Online. Stuff I do in practice is damn near impossible to execute in actual gameplay, but I'm getting there.

Zero is a rushdown king, bar-none. If I manage to gain some control over where I send him, no one will have a moments peace once I break him out. Hulk can chain super armor, a fact I did not know a few hours ago, and makes me incredibly happy. Ammy hits like a truck if you can keep a good tab on weapon switching and her counter mirrors. Iron Fist, as of now, is my worst character. I'm in the L > M > H > whatever mindset like I am for everyone else, but his L is so damn short it screws me over. Need to find a better way to open a combo.

Got a few more characters to mess with, but Wakfu/Skyward Sword calls to me.

Also, Phoenix Wright can be a major pain, guys. Not even kidding.

I can't play zero online. Makes me rage. Takes forever to find an opening only to drop the sentsuizan to raikouzen relaunch and then one touch and zero is dead.

Ugh.

So I'm thinking about grabbing a stick.

Particularly, this one. Seems cheap, and a bunch of people on the SRK forums say its pretty decent and lasts a while. But before I commit to this one, anyone got any idea on what I should look for in a stick?

Ideally, you should get a stick with either full Seimitsu or Sanwa parts, however sticks with those tend to run in the 130-150 range currently. Stock Madcatz and stock Hori parts never tend to last as long as Seimitsu or Sanwa. I usually hear of Madcatz SE sticks having buttons go out within a month. Hori's buttons are a bit better though. I've had a set of clear Seimitsu buttons in my TE for a little over a year now, and only one of them is starting to act funky (when I try to hold it down, it'll release randomly sometimes. Still responsive to taps though, so I didn't even know it was having problems until I bought UMvC3 and was practicing Zero combos this past weekend). I just swapped it for one of the two spares on the stick.

Also, if that's basically the same wireless stick that came with the Tekken 6 collector's edition, make sure you never have a friend over who also has that stick. The USB wireless dongles they use are stupid and basically won't let you have 2 of them plugged into a single ps3 without causing a mess load of interference. I'm pretty sure everything is soldered into place in that stick as well, so if buttons go out, you'll have to unsolder them from the PCB to replace them.

Obligatory http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?thr...ng.137321/

Is modding one an option? You could grab one of the cheaper sticks and mod it with Semitsu/Sanwa parts. Lizard Lick is one of the places a lot of people import from. There's another place that's based either in Hong Kong or Japan that you could order stuff from too, it's just been so long since I've looked at sticks that I forget. D:

SSFIV were the easiest ones to mod since you didn't have to solder, but they seem to have had quite the price increase.....

I'm guessing I want a stick from around 70-150$. I'll have to read up on modding though, since my first thought was just to slap a decal/new plate on a bland cheap one and call it good. When I have time, I'll look in that thread for some more ideas.

Also, don't have to worry about friends interfering with my controller signals....

My stick cost me 120 but it was a limited edition stick/ sale Sad

Being in the lab with dante has paid off. I can do this combo at last:

but I still can't play him properly in terms of landing hits/ running ._.

I think right now, the best option for an all Sanwa PS3 stick would be http://eightarc.com/ps3-ebony this stick. I haven't actually used an eightarc stick yet (since they're fairly new), but I've heard a lot of good about them. They're also made by the same company that makes Qanbas though, which are pretty nice. 110$ for a full Sanwa stick is pretty unheard of now (it's the cheapest I've seen a full Sanwa stick since I bought mine for 100$ back in early 2010). I have no idea how long the sale's going to last on them though.

If you aren't entirely sure about putting the money forward right now, you can get the WWE Brawl stick for 50$. It's the exact same thing as a regular Madcatz TE, just with WWE crap on it. You can then mod it later when the buttons inevitably die, and Madcatz sticks are arguably the easiest to mod. You would just need to buy a Sanwa JLF joystick and replacement buttons, open the stick, remove the old ones and pop in the new ones. A Sanwa joystick runs 24$ on Lizardlick, and buttons are 3$ a pop, so it would be roughly 100$ plus shipping to get a complete stick (with WWE art) that way.

Found this too. Just in case you don't want to risk anything other than a madcatz/ hori. I think eightarc would be fine though.

Just got through playing against, I think it's >Pineapple. Has a Dante combo with Sentinel, I liked it a lot.

He landed an Objection! on my Morrigan right after starting her Missile Hyper, he got to Turnabout Mode but the missiles finished him. I loled.

Good games.

Yeah, that was me. I can do extended/ 100% combos with dante but could never land/ confirm a stinger combo Sad Guess practice will help me get better at not getting blown up all the time. I need to be more patient.

Still can't find a PW team I really like.

Play PW/Morrigan/Phoenix. It's probably going to end up being the dumbest team in the game. I saw Flocker using it the other day on MarlinPie's stream and it's just so dumb. Morrigan with Turnabout PW assist is completely busted, and even Morrigan alone is really dumb now since she can still do multiple air fireballs and make it hell for you to get in. Then if you manage to kill those two, you still possibly have Dark Phoenix to deal with.

I was thinking of PW Dante Morrigan

Morrigan meter assist spam all day, get level 2, thc with dante to collect 3 evidence (usually gets all 3 good evidence needed), get in turnabout with the thc or some other way, switch over to dante, keep getting meter, end with morrigan with turnabout PW assist. Phoenix is really easy to get around now. Just side TAC for a 50/50 chance of nullifying her. Too much RNG for me.

Doom Missiles is a good assist to keep the opponent blocking or disrupt combos.

1. Back-off, call Maya, call Doom Missile assist, search for evidence.
2. Rinse and repeat until you get 3 evidences, call Maya, switch to Doom.
3. Foot dive into combo into TAC into Objection
4. Win game.

Third slot? Whomever you feel comfortable with as an anchor or can abuse Mr. Wright's invincible assist. Either way, you get two great assists with Doom Missiles and Wright's Pressing.

I'd go with Strange, all of his assists are great too. Eye of Agamotto can serve as an extra shield, Bolts of Balthakk can keep opponents crouching/blocking for a while and Daggers of Denak are like faster Doom Missiles.

Or you could just do a normal Doom combo ending with a TK Plasma Beam->Air Photon Array DHC into Maya Smelting and hit the objection.

Heroes and Heralds is out. Also, some tweaking to characters.
