I got into the SWTOR beta and started playing it today...it's exactly like WoW (big surprise).

The questing is way better than WoW, though, and feels very much like a Bioware RPG. You get lots of dialogue options and typically get to resolve quests in two different ways. Voice acting is excellent, and graphics are pretty nice. Still, I don't see it taking off as a massive success, since it's yet another WoW clone.

The videos I've seen of SWTOR haven't impressed me in the slightest (and I've done quite a bit of research on the game). The PvP looks bland as friggin hell. Guild Wars 2 has just impressed me to no end though.

What about GW2 impressed you? I haven't really looked into it. I'm pretty bored of the formula MMOs have been following for the past 7-8 years and I don't look forward to playing any MMO with the tagline that can be summed up as, "It's like WoW, but better!".

People said SWTOR is basically WoW with the Star Wars franchise slapped on it.

Have you played Dragon Nest? Guild Wars 2 is kind of similar in combat style to that. Basically, you don't click on a target and press a button to attack it. You hit your button, your character does the attack, and whatever is in front of you gets hit. If you're not facing the right way you do no damage. This leads to a lot of roll dodging attacks making for extremely fast paced gameplay.

Here's a video of a "little" dragon that they did at gamescon

but is that it? I mean, I'm fine with WoW's combat style. I'm just not interested in daily grinds and running dungeons for Valor.

If my computer weren't a piece of pomegranate I'd buy it

I've been wanting an open-world action RPG for a while.

edit: It IS open-world, right? I just read that the original Guild Wars is all instanced. Sad

Well, it would hard to make a non "WoW clone" when the combat style is the same. That's why I'm pretty excited for the new fighting style of GW2. As for not running dailies, I'm going to assume there's going to be daily something in there since it is an MMO. I don't know too much of the details yet since the game isn't even in beta.

This is the video everyone has seen on GW2 that has any interest in it. It's a short summary of some fresh ideas coming with the game.

I read the brazilian forum (now we have one), and rhastion, the blue from there, said brazilian server will open on december 6th, with the release of patch 4.3.

he clearly said: brazilian server will be available in a new tab on december 6th with the release of patch 4.3.

I will wait for it, unless they changed the date, i believe the patch will happen on december 6th.

Only a miracle will cause that to happen. Boub is right 99% of the time, so if he says 4.3 this week, it usually means 4.3 this week lol.

I know that, I just find it weird because there's nothing on wowarmory, and the only info we got about it its the brazilian blue post.

We will hve to wait and see.
