I understand that these lands are to become a sacred paradise known as Hyrule, but I feel that they kinda stepped off sideways a bit in taking a Shangri-la approach to it. Prior to this, it always seemed to have a medieval flair, rather than one of the orient. Doesn't bother me too much, but it was noticeable.
My overall impression so far is that the way it is designed, it feels short. When you look back at the tasks you set out to do, it doesn't feel like you are accomplishing a whole lot, despite it taking quite some time to finish. However, the pace of the game and the level of engagement keeps it from being dull. While this ultimately means I'm having fun not to notice the passage of time, I'd have preferred a method that left me feeling like, "Wow that was a vast expanse of exploration, I really accomplished a lot"; rather than, "Gotta keep going, oh wow, that's interesting, but despite all this, this place only had 6 rooms." I suppose it takes a step back to the 2D games in this regard making things "simple" but engaging. At least, that's the way it felt to me.
Also, again, I've yet to finish the game, but something inside me is telling me

Groose is somehow related to Gannondorf. Red hair + not given the ideal hand of fate + feelings of powerlessness + desire for true strength = Power corrupts. Also, how does the whole, god hierarchy work here? The 3 old god(esses) brought the world into being from the sea of chaos. It was they who left the Triforce to the world. Goddess Hylia is a deity being who saved the humans from destruction eons ago. If the Ooccoo(however you spell them) created the Hylians, then which gods created the Ooccoo and... basically what order did what go in? For an origin story, another thing is not clear to me; ancient ruins such as those at the temple of time. If the legend of the hero had not yet occurred once, and was merely a tale from the goddess's people, from where and for what society did these great structures stand? And for what purpose? And how is it that the agent of the Goddess and their decedents have survived for millenia and chose not to develop a human society on the surface(no indication of humans living there in gameplay)? You'd think they would at least have a village or something. And yeah, I suppose I could see it if Impa was immortal since there are character design hints to suggest that, but it still doesn't explain where she came from and why she is alone. And that doesn't even touch the issue of the monster race here, our so called Demon Lord here possesses magics and other attributes that not another single character seems to employ. These kinds of things normally don't bother me, but when you are talking about origin stories, you have to be more specific. For example, I believe that Dodoh will go on to find a dimensional slip and wind up as the ancestral founder of Clock Town in Termina. When talking about ancestral details; nothing can be overlooked as anything done here can have profound effects on the future. Though, hell if Gannondorf does show up here, that throws all my concepts out the window and just reaffirms that cannon LoZ is episodic; his source of power may exist in this time, but the man to become him does not. Not going to check any responses to this post until after I beat the game, and it was likely mentioned before all this, so if the game doesn't explain it, I'll look around for the info. I anticipate being wrong in several places.

Fi's last words brought tears to my eyes, when she said thank you... aww. "May we meet again in another life" i was gonna say i hope she reincarnated as Navi or something, but then she'd be annoying, so no
Got Skyward Sword in the mail 2 days ago. So far I've cleared Skyview Temple. The first fight with Ghirahim was neat, he was so creepily calm and it made the fight seem pretty intense.

Link in another life making use of the Master Sword (even though she said that the Master Sword would be put to rest for an eternity), since she's the spirit of the sword put there by the goddess, Hylia (lolZelda). It would work better with the other games where Link doesn't have a companion.
So envious of everyone. I am still waiting on my copy to get here. It's so frustrating. I actually had it pre-ordered as a present from last year's Christmas, waited all this time, comes out on its release date, get an email saying it'll be here this week somewhere from Wednesday to Friday. Today is Friday, checked the tracking, hasn't even shipped yet.
You know... we all thought Ballad of the Goddess being Zelda's theme backwards was just a fun easter-egg, but in reality, it makes so much sense with the events of Skyward Sword.
No love for Ghiramin? That last battle was pure epic and Finding out he was basically an evil version of Fi was really awesome, didn't expect it at all
Come on Razmos learn to spoiler. There are a ton of people here who aren't even close to being done.
Is anyone else having trouble getting their Zelda themed Wiimote connecting to their Wii upon start-up? I can't get the Zelda remote to turn on my Wii or get it to register with the Wii once the Wii is on. I have to turn on my Wii either manually or with another one of my Wiimotes and then go disconnect that Wii mote and hold 1 and 2 to connect the Zelda remote.
I mean, it's not that big of a deal. It hasn't actually started bothering me yet, but I'm wondering if it's a fault of the functionality of the product or if it's just my remote that's broken.

Yes. You need to hit Sync on the back of the controller (red button in the battery compartment) and hit sync on the wii in the SD card slot at the same-ish time.
I was freaking out when I got mine because I thought it was broken.
Beat the game last night. Epic story, awesome characters, but I'm left with this emptiness. I feel that the game was short lived despite the fact that I did play endlessly since acquiring the game. Gotta say though I had a blast, I dont think ill be able to play another Zelda game unless I'm brandishing a Wii Remote +.
I like how late in the game you get the Bow, makes you get a lot of use out of the Slingshot this time around, unlike Twilight Princess when the Slingshot's replaced by the Bow after, like, the 2nd dungeon or something =|
It's also nice that the Slingshot (and the bow? idk, haven't tried this w/ the bow yet) don't automatically auto-aim when you Target something xP
Also really enjoy the option of purchasing bomb bags/seed bags/quivers in case you need extra ammo.

Oh, and I'm liking the use of Rupees in this game, compared to TP.
In Twilight Princess I'd have my wallet full so very often, and the only way to get the bigger wallets involved wasting a whole bunch more rupees ><
I haven't filled my wallet to the top not once~ Then again, I did buy an upgrade or two for the heck of it.

OH, and Bombs in this game <3
Not rolling too far when thrown, not automatically on fire when you take them out, AND you can put them away if you really didn't need to take one out <3 so great
Attempting to finish up the game right after I post this as it's the only chance I've had since Wenesday

Leaving the dungeon first to gather the remaining Gratitude crystals.
, but first, for the last time, my mention of the concert.
Nintendo put out an official coverage video (I'm late, I know) on the Nintendo channel, but not themselves on YouTube (for whatever reason). I didn't see myself anywhere in the foreground of these, but I might have been in the background. I was wearing a black fedora, tan coat, and green triforce shirt. Not going to expose any more since I honestly don't want current connections to how I look given comparison to how I looked in the past still lingering on the internet.

Do the holes in the pumpkin patches serve any purpose? They have the exact same design as the one in the Sealed Temple that you plant the tree of life in, and it is bothering me that I might have missed a side quest to plant things or something.

Not that I saw, I think they may be there as secondary placements for planting that. You know, to throw you off the trail. But I didn't try.
