Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread

Ugh, I'm put off every time I try to play this game every few weeks or so I feel like playing a match, but I just really WANT to at least give this game a fair shot and learn it. A friend of mine handed me a bunch of character guides when I said I'd begin, but reading the actual contents and strategy is impossible because it's like it's written in another language. I suck every time and I'm sure I'd be better if I played more frequently, but I just hate being thrust into online play without really understanding how to play very well.

Is there anything worth reading or advice worth taking to learn and get better at this game?

Tutorials, bot games would do the job for now. Take one step at a time; learning the bare basics will lead you to understand bigger things later on.

Not gonna lie, the learning curve in LoL is really fking steep. Take the effort to learn as much as you can in terms of basic mechanics, then play some games, preferably with your friends. Repeat.

New masteries made him ridiculous now. Easily one of the best junglers in the game.

I love Trundle. Good jungler and good solo top, also a counter to many of the typical solo tops because of his cc reduction and ad reduction, not to mention his ult giving him free stats.
Even better that you barely see anyone play him. Sleeper op.

Several mistakes made on my part during the match, which I wasn't happy about. I could've done more. =\

On the other hand...feels good to deny TF his ability to teleport and kill him by a W + R combo on Malzahar.

So, I've come to realize that I need to find a solo top and a mid to play as. I'm working on my Karthus game again after not having played him for ages, but does anybody have a suggestion as to what to try as solo top?

Akali/GP/Wukong/Fizz would be best probably. Garen, Kayle, Nocturne, Sion, Swain, Teemo, Vladimir and Xin Zhao can all go top.

Solo top with Riven is probably my favourite. No mana+strong harass is awesome.

Tryndamere is also good, but only if you know how to play him well. Done right, he's nasty, can (theoretically) infinite sustain in lane, and if fed/farmed enough, hyper carry late game.

Trynd is ridiculous right now. Easily one of the best Solo top champs, but Chip don't have Trynd

Don't worry we won a 4 v 5. Akali is so easy to carry with, not to mention the rest of the team was great too.
