Sneak peek of the new Thief and Pirate
Takebacker Wrote:I know what it does. Thanks for summarizing.

Increased crits suck. 100% def ignore is a completely different and irrelevant skill.

Sure is butt hurt in here.
Doesn't like what he sees so trashes on everything else without bothering to see it first hand.

I don't like how the new Captain skills are slow, but I'll wait to pass judgment on it first.

The new buff in 2nd job gives 25 attack. Super transform gives 40. No other buffs give weapon attack as far as i can see. That's -15 attack. I lose 15 attack to look like a retard instead of a glowing inferno.

I'm with Takebacker on this one. I liked how they used to do transformation and super transformation. Otherwise I am fine with the changes Smile.

Only because it's...true? Everything significant resists all elements.
Way to hide your own butt hurt.

And what i'm saying about this revamp isn't? We lost a lot more than we've gained so far.

You're bashing me for having my own qualms when you have your own. I'm entitled to my problems with this just like you are yours. I've even been waiting longer to b'itch over this. Now let's shut up and wait for the next patch where they do things wrong once again.

No. I had my objections to the Paladin changes because I played with it first hand on Tespia and the Live server.
They made some changes that aren't the greatest, but I'll live with it.

You're complaining about text and extractions because they took away something and you don't like it. You haven't played it, nor has every skill been showcased OR finalized for that matter.

The fact that you've pretty much stated that you've been waiting to complain about it just means that you wouldn't have been pleased with ANYTHING they could have done.

Sounds like you with the Pally changes. Only when the live patch hit did you complain even louder.

I played with them on Test Server and pointed out bugs and flaws, I knew there would be more last minute changes.

Complained about the live patch 'cause they barely changed anything, the bugs weren't fixed, and skills were completely overlooked.
They made some changes in this patch, not the best but I'll live with it. My only complaint now is about the element system.

I don't need to play when the entire philosophy has changed when it didn't need to. The entire time the community has said they need buffs and improvements, not an entirely different class. Paladins didn't lose their survivability, like we did. Paladins didn't lose their party support, like we did. Paladins didn't get another strong mobbing skill that's redundant, like we did.

You'll live with it because they made some changes. First generation pirates won't live with the changes, because we didn't get changes. We got a true revamp. A revamp none of us asked for.

Baklava Wrote:nor has every skill been showcased OR finalized for that matter.

Didn't say they weren't. For things i've said throughout the day to change they need to do literally everything over, and that's not going to happen.

Baklava Wrote:The fact that you've pretty much stated that you've been waiting to complain about it just means that you wouldn't have been pleased with ANYTHING they could have done.

No. It means i was expecting them to do this kind of job from the start. Re-read my old "changes we should get" threads. I predicted kamehameha. I predicted hurricane fists. There were a lot of things i and others suggested that would have satisfied every single person who enjoys buccaneers, but Nexon didn't see the real value in the skills they had made originally, because the majority of the community didn't either. I'm not sad they're gone. I'm sad they weren't appreciated enough to have stayed. Instead the stupid masses is now 100% what matters. All we're good for now is how much %str we have.

Well, was I right or was I right when I said for months that the promised revamp for Pirates would still not do any justice for Vipers? I knew we would only get worse and look. We did!

Like I've said many times before, Nexon doesn't know what to do with Vipers and I have no faith in them ever doing anything good with them. They simply don't know what Vipers are, apparently. It's like constantly watching an identity crisis.

what do you want vipers to be, exactly?

(PS. Paladin has no party support)

I'm not answering that because i know it will take a damn essay to convey the concept to you.

Combat orders. Their survivability can also be a support. At empress our paladin is always the one to provoke empress because he can actually approach and survive.

Now I'm not going to say these changes are bad, but the way they look right now make them look bad. What point is there to putting a big fat red triangle that we're basically going to see 100% of the time because it charges in less than a second? What point is there putting the super transform sprite in the attacks for half a second? It's like sitting there taunting us from beyond the grave. Apparently Super Transform is still available when pirate's revenge is triggered, but I can't get that video to load. Honestly, I'd be fine with the attacks if they didn't make them stupidly over the top flashy. Right now having to see a buff that basically covers your character in a red triangle looks dumb and could be toned down A LOT. Do we need a super transform sprite every time we use the attack? No, you can tone that down too. Did we need a super lazer cannon like every other pirate class? No. I would seriously be much more content if they just got rid of the stupid animations and didn't remove all the utility from the Buccaneer.

Honestly I'd have been more content if all they did was buff the damage percentages and decreased the innate cooldowns on the skills. I'm very content with the way the buccaneer plays right now; this revamp was too extreme for me. I'm still waiting on Nexon's reasoning why they wanted to completely change the thief and pirate classes when they didn't do so to the other original 3. It doesn't make sense.

Combat Orders is decent but the ability to tank is still not a support.
What does approaching do? Walk up to Cygnus, attack, Cygnus' AoE attacks everywhere, everyone dies.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about do you?

Boy let's talk jerky today.

I've never fought Cygnus before but for the other bosses that I've been to, my survivability has never directly contributed to the party. I'm not sure how it'd be different there.

Yes, it is.

1) Saves the group wheels.
2) Gets her away from left side.
3) Provokes to summon 600ms or 1.65s.

Approaching was a s'hittier example compared to surviving to clear the summons out of the respawn area if people are dead.

That makes more sense than simply "approaching." Tongue

Zakum and Horntail, of course, don't count as luring. Pink Bean and Cygnus, however, do, as they move and need mob control. And guess who's the smart guy getting near? The one who can survive the best, of course.
