Isn't one "pound" of weight gained theoretically around 3,000 calories? So if you ate that whole bear in the course of a day you'd instantly gain like 12 pounds? Hory shet.

No, if you ate the whole bear, you would gain 26 pounds due to conservation of mass. Those 36000 calories will be eventually stored as fat later.
