At least you have the game...

Just jerk both the Wiimote and Wiichuck left-right/right-left or up-down/down-up. Link has different directions in which he uses 'em depending on which way you swing your two pieces of a controller. lol

Taking another break from the game. I have beaten the first dungeon and I think I'm almost to the second dungeon, but I'm not sure of that. It's getting dark, so the light from the TV in such a dark room is beginning to hurt my eyes, so I need to get a lamp. lol

I love every aspect of this game so far. I've heard so much bad stuff about the motion controls (excluding Tom Shea's review) and how flying was terrible. I find it to be fun as f'ucking hell. While some people suggest they should've stuck to the joystick for everything, I find the way they made flying work was perfect. Sure, it could probably use improvement, but I find it WAY better this way than any other way I can think of.

I love the whole fatigue/dash system so far. What a pretty art style too. KEWL GAME!

It's good but it's not "amazing"

The motion controls are pomegranate outside of battle. It is pretty satisfying to slash the hell out of a moblin though

I don't know what you're talking about. I have no problems with the controls. They work beautifully everywhere.

Not gonna lie, having to reset the pointer irks me a tad. Engaging combat overrides that, however.

Are you guys playing with lights on? This can make the sensor act weird.

If you're having to reset the pointer, you're doing it wrong.

Skyward Sword doesn't make use of the Wii's sensor bar. AT ALL. Everything is done through Wii Motion Plus' gyrosensor, so you do not have to point at the screen at all. If anything, pointing at the screen only serves as a reference for yourself to feel comfortable.

Are you suggesting that having to play video games in complete darkness isn't some sort of massive failure on the developers part (both of the software and hardware)

YSK the sensor bar is just two LED lights.

Just felt weird holding the remote away from the screen, then it spazzing out when I pointed it back.

Use the Beetle to cut the thread.
Did they land in water? they are dead, congrats.
Did they fall on land? deliver an upwards sword swing and then a fatal blow, dead.

Seriously, once you know how they become the easiest enemy in the game to kill.

Colors are reminding me of Dawn of Mana. Also, a lot more typical Japanese characterization here. Easy to spot the stereotypes. I actually like it since it gives more personality to the characters, but I can see how cookie cutter characters would get on some people's nerves if it has. Inside 2nd dungeon and calling it a night.

And I'm having a bit of a time with the controls too; but then, I'm stuck in a room with no standing space and the TV 5 feet above arm level. I assume since I start by pointing "up" when looking towards the screen (yes I know it is gyro, but hard to mentally process the center so much lower) that causes it to be off initially. Not saying the controls are bad; as a matter of fact, they were fine when I played the demo; just that they don't work well with my setup. And I can't just go out and buy a new room, so I'm getting used to it.

Also, I sucked at flying for a long time until I figured out how to "flap" and gain altitude. I consider 3 minutes long.
