yah they definitely didn't release LK or Sinestra on the PTR. Why is deathwing on the PTR? No fking idea. Probably because the fight is lame as hell

Not talking about that, I'm pointing to the fact that since those two fights weren't tested on the PTR, they were a giant buggy mess when they went to live.
LK got around 3-4+ hotfixes during and after Ensidia's WF kill.
Sinestra got around 6-7+ hotfixes during the Paragon and For The Horde attempts.

There were hotfixes but they were all done within a couple days after the patch came out. I remember LK had the saronite bomb bug that cause him to take a ton of damage from saronite bombs. It was fixed within a few hours of it being found out.

I'd rather the fights be a surprise with a couple bugs than being "old news" by the time it comes out

What about the Saronite exploit that caused the platforms to re-appear? That wasn't fixed until well after Ensidia got the "World First" kill on him.

All I'm saying is, while it would be nice to be completely surprised by the final encounter in the raid, and expansion, having game-breaking bugs / exploits isn't exactly the best thing to have released, because Blizz was too lazy to fully test everything.

Just wondering, do any of you guys seriously follow those leveling guides that are around the internet, or do you guys just do all the quests in one area and move on? More of a boredom question than a serious one, because we all know leveling in WoW is pretty easy anyways.

There's only so much they can do dude... Blizzard isn't superman. There's going to be things that they miss even with a ton of testing.

Which is EXACTLY why they have to open the bosses up to the PTR, otherwise pomegranate like that will get through.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that every boss they never opened up to the PTR came filled with massive bugs / exploits, because Blizz was too lazy to test the encounter themselves. All they do is make sure the scripts are working properly and that's it.

Stop trying to be a White Knight of Blizzard.

Then that's where the problem is obviously.... Do you have a buggy fight for the first 5 guilds that pull him so you can surprise the entire WoW community? Or do you release the fight early so it's almost bug free? They had testing on the beta for cata raids but there were still problems with them. Like artramedes being LoS abused behind his door. By the time 99% of the population even gets to the last boss, the bugs will be gone anyways.

I sure as hell don't want to know the big boss fight in and out before it hits live servers.

Yeah Deathwing raid looks like a joke now. I saw a video for the first part where you jump platforms, looks way too pineappleing easy. Didn't see anymore but God... It should be HARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Harder than my plantain when I see Jessica Alba hard.

So yeah I agree with Russell, this is kind of stupid. The fight might be glitchy but what a letdown. It's like me getting Maikon a new computer for Christmas but asking him to test it Dec 20th to make sure it works well.

Edit: Can you guys also stop being useless and learn how to edit pictures so we can enter the Blizzard card contest.

Hai, 2 things
1. PTR IS PTR
2. NORMALS DON'T MATTER
People said the exact same thing with Rag on the PTR and look where Heroic Rag ended up.
Hell, remember how brutal Heroic Baleroc was until Blizz did a stealth nerf on the guy?

thats why I don't watch any PTR video, didn't watch any dungeon video, so when the patch comes live, everything will be new for me.

there will always be bugs, but since it is the last boss of the expansion, they could make it a surprise.

and yeah, they always buff the raid when they release. but the fight is lame for sure... kill some tentacles, kill deathwings leg, then just dps the boss?

its just a DPS race like every nerfland fight.....

hmm idk if i understand wrong your post, but heroic firelands is a pure DPS race. beside maybe shannox where you have to reset the dogs stacks.

EDIT: I think I got what you mean, unless they make big changes on heroic mode, I can only see it being a dps race again.

dam, even ulduar/icc fights are better than fireland fights, in terms of mechanic

Alright fair enough, I can see what you mean. Come to think of it, you're pretty much right. Even before the FL nerfs, they were still mostly DPS races.
Heroic Rag is on a whole different level by himself.

Also what about T11 fights? Sad

the main core of my guild, that killed all heroics pre patch 4.2(t4w,bot,bwd) said T11 heroic fights are harder than heroic firelands fight(except for ragnaros).

oh and:

Just do all quests in an area and move on. You can also level in BGs (which will end up giving you enough honor/honor-to-justice for most of your endgame gear, but is slow as all pineapple without a BG weekend), or in dungeons if you're a healer/tank.

I think tanking dungeons is slightly faster than questing and healing is slightly slower or something.

Edit: Oh and we downed Shannox N25 last night (25-mans are a blast), and I got the BiS offhand! Big Grin

Quote:We've made slight adjustments to the Valor Point (VP) drops on the 4.3 PTR which testers can now see. In both 10- and 25-player raids, bosses will now drop 100 VP each (down from 115 and 135 respectively). We’ll also be changing Firelands raid bosses to drop 50 VP per kill upon release of the patch.

This change is being made to further emphasize the desire to kill bosses for the items they drop. In the 4.3 raid, tier sets can only be earned from boss drops, and as Raid Finder will allow for just about anyone to get a chance to kill bosses, we think there will be less need for Valor overall. We want to try to match the lower desire for VP with a slightly slower acquisition rate.

We appreciate your thoughts and constructive discussion on how these changes may affect you and your guild once 4.3 is released.

lol

Quote:In patch 4.3 we’re changing the daily battleground (BG) to reward 100 conquest for a win (up from 25). In addition, every non-rated BG that you win will also give you 50 conquest. There is no limit to how many BGs you can run this way, up to the normal conquest cap.

Our intent is to start acting even more on our Mists of Pandaria philosophies of encouraging players to approach the content they want to, how they want to, and be able to work toward meaningful player progression. Arenas and rated battlegrounds will still earn Conquest faster, but with this change you can now work your way up by running normal BGs, if you so choose.

I like and dislike the CP change, I like because i will be able to get my CP cap w/o doing arenas, I dislike because everyone will be doing bgs, meaning more noobs will be there making it less fun to do bgs....

Since when were there not noobs in random BGs?
