Veterans Day - honor those who served and who are currently serving

So....

Today's Veterans Day, and I just want to say that no matter what you think of the U.S. military right now, it really means a lot if you go out and thank the veterans you know as well as those who are currently serving right now. They defend our way of life and our freedom, and for me, its my way of showing my appreciation to those who risked their lives to fight for the country.

Simply saying "Thank you for serving our country" to those guys will make their day a bit brighter. Today, go out and thank veterans and active-duty soldiers alike today!

I hate it when people bring up that argument because lightning and other people murdering people for their own twisted reasoning are two completely different things.

And since it is Veteran's Day don't forget about other wars. Like World War II. Like, we probably will be Nazis if it weren't for the military. Or dead.

I thank all members in uniform on sight. I personally thank them, shake their hand and attempt to salute them.

....What isn't an unnecessary holiday. F`uck you should be grateful you have summer vacation considering that's the most useless of them all. Veteren's day is a government thanks to those who served. I find your opinion retarded, unfortunately my father and both sides of grandparents fought to give you that freedom, to speak retarded.

I see what you are saying, but it is a nice gesture to dedicate a day to honoring people who serve/have served in the armed forces. They gave their lives to give us the freedoms we now take for granted, so is one day too much to give them?

The only veterans I will honour are the conscripts, because the governments did a terrible thing to them. I can't glorify someone who chose to take a gun in their hand with the intent of using it on someone else.

Not even to help stop a rampaging maniac like Hitler?
