Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread

Phew. I almost bought dodge runes this week. Glad I didn't. No more mastery speed boost. (No more strength of spirit either :<) Shitloads of other sweet options though.

Also, i really hate jungling now. I did it last game after months of not doing it, and did really badly. Since i last jungled there seems to have been a rise in blame for anything that goes wrong on the jungler. If you get harrassed constantly and lose lane, it is not my fault. If all 3 lanes are losing, its not my fault that i cant help all 3 at once. If i initiate a fight and we lose it, it is not my fault, we just simply lost it.

Maybe im just too used to supporting :<

"If you don't succeed, try again". That's what jungling is. Though if you want to test out various jungling setups (an possibly have a chance at epic phailing at it), do test it out on Co-Op vs AI before busting it live. You'd rather see where you phail and fix it before you take it to real games. Once you get it down though, its just absolutely wonderful.

Shyv jangle is pretty awesome.

Stonewall008 releases a huge amount of jungle videos for EVERY champ. A good start for anyone.

I don't like how the new mastery trees are set up while looking at it as a Jungler. Smite buff is in a weird location for it.

The problem was I wanted to see if I could adapt an existing runepage of mine and still get the same results as he does. While I can do that with Cloth + 5x Pots, I can't do it with Vampiric Scepter, which is the better choice gold-wise. It's a tradeoff of time wasted getting levels, or gold wasted spending it on excessive amounts of pots.

I eventually gave in and subbed my quints for AD quints. So OP.

On a related topic, is this correct?
Level 2 = mini golems, buffs, or wolves + wraiths
Level 4 = full clear
Level 6 = buffs, 3x golems, 3x wolves, 3x wraiths


EDIT: Having looked at Riven's jungling, I'm thinking I might actually replace my Marks with flat AD and call it good for both Riven and Shyvana.

Holy molly.... im going to redesing all my mastery books with these new masteries o.o...

But im liking that improved recall and the fact that you only need to put 1 point to upgrade a good number of summoner spells. (Also dat awareness so far in the tech tree, going to be hard to get it without sacrificing something else)

Hey all, I'm going to be playing this game on occasion until I get access to Dota 2. I'm mostly playing when friends are on, but it'd be fun to play with some of y'all. IGN is Charfire.

Is there any matchmaking, or am I just doomed to be playing with horrible players until I hit the level cap? I haven't really bothered with the masteries/runes/spells yet so I imagine I must be at some sort of disadvantage, and yet I'm dominating (or in the games I lost, the only one on the team that didn't feed) in every game with only Dota experience prior to this.

I like the Katarina changes. Allows for some nice harass options.

It would be nice if your choice on whether you Shunpo in front or behind wasn't tied to a skill with a stupidly long cooldown.

Hey Dusk what's up? First of all...welcome.

About LoL matchmaking: what's fabulous about it is that you're matched with people the same level. Aka, if you're a low level, you're matched up with people around your level, not high level peeps. However, I'm guessing you already have lots of experience in the DotA/RTS genre, so I'll go ahead and say that you will likely be dealing with people who are just starting LoL (and probably not play at the skill level that you have atm). And of course, there's people smurfing on low level accounts, so watch out for that.

For runes/masteries: Right now since you're starting off, don't worry about that. If - and if - you do choose to get all the way to level 30 (before DotA 2 comes out), runes/masteries start becoming extremely important because they help your champion(s) out during early game phase quite a bit. (IIRC, someone said that having an optimal mastery page/rune page setup will boost early game effectiveness by up to 30%, which is quite significant IMO). But right now don't worry about that; when you're past level 20, start asking questions about it and we'll be glad to help you.

Just keep on winning games and you'll be paired up with higher level folks.

Or you can just play with us and BE paired up with high level folks .

I know. With the way her skillset works, it was probably better to not implement it at all without significant changes to how Killer Instincts operates...if it was like Mantra, that'd be okay.

After thinking about it, I think the change is actually much worse than I had originally though.

Basically you can't do pomegranate like.. shunpo to wards properly without using KI. This might be really bad for Kat =/

Because you land behind things without KI, you might shunpo to an ally only to move too little distance and still get caught. This applies to wards and pomegranate too..
