I love Lux but I think she is too restrained by cooldowns, even with 40% CDR :/ She's still one of the most fun to play though. Spam dat laugh in lane ALL DAY.
What's your usual build on her, Solic? Also do you play her in ranked too or just normals?

Lux's shield CD is pretty low with 40% CDR, iirc.

I've found that if you get fed, Veigar with Lichbane can backdoor turrets very well. Holy crap.

I agree that Lux doesn't fit what the ap carry role as well as for example Brand but it just makes me boil inside when people call me out on me trying to play her ap carry mid because she can't do anything apparently. She was my first champion I bought and the first champion I mastered. I solely played her in levels 3-30 (well mostly). I go 9/0/21, with magic penetration marks, scaling mana regen seals, scaling ap glyphs and ap quintessences. I used to run clarity/teleport for maximum lane dominance, but I can't really miss flash anymore so now I run flash/clarity if my team allows me to without trolling (the usual rally/revive eve when I pick her with clarity in mid in team selection) or flash/teleport then. One sustaining spell and one escaping spell at least. I go R>E>Q>W with 1 point in q when lvl 1 fighting and if not 1 in e at first. getting an early point in in w at level 4 to shake off harassment

Core is sorcerers,deathcap, void staff and lichs bane. Getting dorans rings/boots/health pots depending on lane matchup and which sustaining spell I choose. If game goes on for much longer then that I usually get Morello's evil tome/DFG/hourglass/magic resist scepter/banshee's/guardians angel and switch sorcerers for mercs depending on team matchup and how we're doing. I only play ranked since I like competition and I always play to win so yeah. If I don't want to go all serious I usually play twisted treeline or dominion but not with Lux. She's not really good there imo. And for all people saying that she isn't viable in high elo. Define high, because I'm 1812 now and I do perfectly fine with her.

Edit: This guide has put me on this track and might be worth a read. Ofcourse I made some adjustments to stuff I didn't like like soulstealer and kages pick hurting my early game if I wasn't planning for a DFG, but it really paved a nice path for me playing her.

Yeah I'm sitting at like 139x elo right now for season 2. Almost 20 wins over losses.

Haven't played Lux in normal OR played pvp in ages.



Me & Amumu tore up early lane, being fed by the Jax and Karthus. Thought I'd try my luck and get a Mejai's which I never do in pvp. Only died once and that was 'cos of the Tristina, lol.

Their team refused to attack us together, so there'd be 4 of us in mid, pushing forward (with Trynd running about for any gankers) and I saw the Jax would go bottom lane every now and again and everyone else would try and push mid, but never in a group more than 2. The only time I died was when I think everyone who was alive (apart from Jax who was trying to push bottom) was fighting in mid and I walked through the brush and the Tristina opened fire which made everyone target me. They forfeited when we were about to destroy their third mid tower. Thing is, if they worked in a team, they could've won.

I hope all my normal games end this well, lol.

She is one of the few supports in solo queue that can fix stupid.

My solo top is very very strong as well but support is my favorite role in every game I play.

Nah. You fix stupid by capitalizing on said stupid by playing a carry and letting him unknowingly act as bait.

Have you ever seen supports lose games for a team?

Well my support wins games for the team with proper map awareness,
jungle timers, warding, oracles, ultimate saves, and tracking enemy jungler with CV.

The other supports can do it to, but nobody does it like soraka can.

As I said it depends on the enemy team composition. If they have a Mundo top a Vladimir Mid and a Cho Gath jungling you'll bet your ass that I'm going for this item. Besides it's more then an active, it gives you cdr, ap and mana reg, everything great for Lux. And I would build this item or morello's evil tome only as 6th usually because then it's nice to have some cdr and mana regen so I don't have to be so blue dependant.

Also I just played with Fnatic Shusei. He ended up feeding his lane a bit and finished 0/3/7. Rushed sorcerers with Lichs bane. We ended up winning though because I did a few good ganks as mumu jungle and their tristana dc'ed for around 4 minutes giving bottom lane a huge advantage, not to mention that top akali just plain won. Looking forward to platinum!

@Duelman: Everything of the things you listed can be done by any other support aside from ultimate saves. Something you can truly carry with would be Blitzcrank/Alistar for setting up kills for your carry in my opinion ofcourse. Or Janna for her awsome dispositioning ulti in teamfights.

Actually new meta. Graves best support, ranged, burst, sustained, split pusher. K. :<

Thanks for the info. I basically build her the same way, and when I bought her way back when I used to follow that mobafire build as an outline too, haha. Although for summoner spells I take Flash/CV because I hate not having CV on the team.
Reason I asked you in the first place is because I played my first game with her since forever and did really well. Was just curious how a high elo player would have built her but I seem to be on the right track!

Note - If anyone does bother to watch, Kayle and Morgana are my friends that I queued up with so I wasn't actually raging. We always jab at each other for fun. I love trolling the other team with Lux though. I'm shocked we won considering our team consisted of Kayle, Morg, Lux, Ryze and MF: No tank, 3 AP, 1 AD and a Tiamat stacking Kayle.
