They were updated because there were a lot of Cannoneers that just popped up randomly. Plus it says my friend is 95 when he reached that yesterday night.

I really don't see the big deal here. Most hackers get banned before doing anything worthwhile, and even more will fail to actually reach a level worthy of mention.

I'd like to think it is more of a collective facepalm at Nexon or just a need to discuss something rather than everyone thinking this is a really big deal.

Rollback is done when the damage is so widespread that it's impossible to undo surgically. Like when "tainted meso" have passed so many hands that basically everyone is holding some, or something bought with them.
In this case, it's easy to just ban all the UAs that don't have an attached Knight of Cygnus.

there are so many ways to go about this really. simplest being:

is the attached char a 120 cygnus with X quest done? Y/N
N = Ban
