Are there any AP problems with Cannon Shooters and pirate equips? I saw some 14x pirate gloves in a scrolled item thread that required 170 str and dex, but I wanted to make sure.

From what I've read in guides for cannoneers...
They get 15 stat bonus for a beginner skill (correct me if im wrong) +30 dex with pirate training+ Hyper Monkey Spell (4th job) gains you 40stat bonus buff. So youre already at a 85 dex bonus : 3. I don't it will be hard to be honest to get enough dex for high lv equips.

I have +157 DEX at 121 with level 1 Hyper Monkey Magic, wearing purely event equipment. Shouldn't be difficult in the slightest to get enough DEX to wear anything.

A HTP would more than solve whatever tiny issues you could possibly have with dex requirements.

The process for equipping a new item goes:
1)unequip current item
2)check to see if the stat requirements are met
3)if they are, equip the item
If you can get enough dex from everything but say your shoes to equip the lvl 140 set, then you can equip your shoes, then use the bonus from that to equip the hat, gloves, and overall, and cape of a high level set. The high levels of bonus from high level sets (something stupid like 130-140 dex from the 140 set) means that if you can get up to 170 dex sans one item in the set you're golden.
