Favorite Pokemon Game

I'm not surprised Gold/Silver/Crystal is #1 so far..

The game was a HUGE upgrade. Almost everything changed. Color.. Pokemon.. Types.. Regions.. Stuff to Do.. Items..
Endless!

G/S/C revolutionized Pokemon. The games following were upgrades, yes, but not as big from 1st -> 2nd Gen

Crystal. Maybe because it was my first, but also because of the bigass map and the Pokémon moving when entering battle.

[COLOR="#0000FF"]This. I loved crystal's espeon, typhlosion and suicune sprite. Those were my favourite pokemon from that gen.
Also pokemon emerald. Latios, Absol and Blaziken FTW.
Oh, and pokemon b/w. They were just fun, and it was nice to have a hard game again. If they had that adventure of pokemon b/w, but with emerald pokemon, I'm sure everyone would of had it. .-.[/COLOR]

People who care about pokemon training/competitive battling are crap

I've never played competitively or whatever, I just want to have the pokemons I want and level them according to what I need to battle IN-GAME. You have to be realistic and realize that being forced to use pokemon you don't want is utter bullcrap. It's just the way it is. The landscapes you travel through can be amazing and s'hit, but it ends up being annoying for what I posted earlier.

Define competitive battling.

If you mean using an online simulator, then damm, why are you hosting a RPS tournament when that's basically a dumbed down version of competitive battling?

something i have to give the third gen though, and it's my favorite gimmick mechanic of the game:

pineappleing secret bases, those were the pomegranate, and having to sidequest and do the cool/beauty stuff and such for decorations was simply awesome, i loved it, not to mention sharing it with other people and such, and decorating it to your pleasure.

1. It revolutionized gaming with new systems such as Ability and Nature.
2. It has a lot of good Pokemon. (Blaziken *Beep!* YEAH!)
3. Secret Bases (Except it's not good if you're going to money farm.)
4. You don't have to call the trainers in order to rematch in Ruby and Sapphire, which makes it easier to level grind/money farm until you're high leveled (Emerald can freaking suck it for bringing back that stupid phone feature that was in the previous generation. Trainer Rematch + Phone = FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU~)
5. Contests are actually fun. It's superior to the one in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

ability and nature are boss aditions, but sarah probs hates nature
it has loads of horrible, horrible pokemons too, but deoxys, HNNNGH
secret bases are amazing if you feel like challenging a friend, but can't atm, also great for EV training, and it's quite fun trying to find the secret bases of your friend's friend

in my book at least, 1>3>4platinum>4/2, haven't beaten five, but probably at the end, if i haven't even bothered that much with it,

Gonna hop on the G/S/C bandwagon here.

Gold was my first pokemon game ever, and no other entry in the series has enraptured me as much. I was constantly playing, even when R/S hit the US, I was still going around messing things up with my level 92 Ho-oh. And I'll never forget when I first found red...holy crap, that day kicked off my first major internet browsing spree, looking up just WHO this guy was, and why he was dicking around on top of a mountain...and then I spent days looking up where to find another lugia. Still convinced that If I beat Red 35 times, lugia will re-appear in the dragon's den.

G/S/C here.
Probably because of feeling I got from going against Red for the first time, and not knowing who the pineapple he is.

It would have to be emerald for me just the storyline the the pokemon (Salmeance is pure badass) battle frontier.

They have still yet to make a game where you can go to all regions. Why Nintendo hasn't done this is beyond me.

DO IT!!! if it cant fit on handheld make it for the Wii-U or something I would buy one just for that game.
