Do you prefer being called by your username or your real name over the internet?

Just curious.

Never really mattered to me. People I know on MS calls me by my real name, and a lot of people on the forums also tends to call me by my real name, never bothered me.

My username. I never mentioned my real name on the Internet or Maplestory. I don't want to get stalked, see (lolhypocrite).

It doesn't matter to me.

On MS I prefer getting called "Heidi" rather than "0Heidirose0", or even worse, I sometimes get called "crusader" or "sader".

As long as I know someone is referring to me, I doesn't matter to me too much. Though I'll sometimes prefer my real name.

Never revealed my actual name once over the internet, aside from group projects.

I prefer Christopher to Chris, but nobody's got the effort to type all 11 letters, so people generally call me Wani. Christopher > Wani > Chris

It doesn't really phase me what I am called, my maple name, username, real name... hell, I even accept being called "Silverback" now . Nickname I gained from my Magic deck.

I generally go by Spaz, even among those who know my real name.

My name's Kyle, and I'm very proud and happy with my name. I have no problem sharing it and I often do no matter where I am. If I know/talk with someone semi-often to frequently, I definitely prefer they call me Kyle. However, it annoys me when people I don't know, talk with or care about call me Kyle like they "know" me. Like...who are you?

On forums, I don't mind being called by my screen name at all. In fact, it's usually always more fitting and appropriate. In messengers, games and IRCs, I always prefer being called by my real name.

I fit somewhere in between. <Most> (except for good friends) call me Jackk but that's because they dont know my real name (Yes, my real name isnt Jackk, lololo... dunno how many people knew or didnt know that xD)

Anyways, ever since I lost my original account to a very close internet friend (suspected, never proven) on the Bera server, I decided not to tell anyone anything about my new account.

I normally prefer being called Jezza rather than JezzaRules and I don't mind if others use my real name.

Rusty is my nickname, has always been since I was little. My real name is Russell though.

I'm Pat. I purposely made most of my characters have horrible yet descriptive puns for names, like patetic and psychopat. Patetic is an unfunded archer made back when everyone laughed at you for being an archer. psychopat works in the same way because I'm just weird. Neither are my first character but I tend to set that one as my name on forums just because it flows better. For those characters, people call me pat whether they know my real name or not so it works out just fine.

For my other characters, it's all a matter of familiarity. A guild needing a translation chart of everyone's charID-->realName is excessive, particularly when it's like 100 people. If you were familiar enough for me to use your real name, I wouldn't need the chart to look it up.

I used to know other Amanda/Mandas so some people would call me Squeaky. Most of the time I prefer people to call me Manda, but Squeaky is fine too for those who know other Mandas or don't know my name.
