We never had one o.O Even if we did, lets do another..
You could take into account of remakes (Fire, Leaf, Heart, Soul)
But just think of as you're growing up.. you've played..
Red/Blue/Yellow
Gold/Silver/Crystal
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
Black/White/Gray
Just gonna include Gray so everything looks all neat and organized..
What was your FAVORITE Pokemon game.
P.S: I'm typing/posting this thread in my Pikachu hoodie with ears.

Gold, mostly due to it being my first but also because it is the game with the biggest map so far (right?) and most stuff to do (that isn't the contests).

I really liked G/S/C series. TWO FRICKEN REGIONS in one game OMG.
I also thoroughly enjoyed Yellow version. One of my favorite versions because you got a pikachu to follow you
And I gamesharked my pikachu to learn surf so I could play the mini game

Gold/Silver, so many fond memories from those two games.

Emerald. Really loved the 3rd Gen and then I dumped countless hours into Battle Frontier because it was a whole new challenge after Gym Leaders/Elite Four. Managed to get all Silver badges but the Gold was just so difficult.

Crystal. Maybe because it was my first, but also because of the bigass map and the Pokémon moving when entering battle.

Red. because not only was it my first, but it was THE first, also had so many fun glitches and such that it was hard to get bored of it.
gold was cool and everything, but the second region was so numbed down, it shouldn't even count as a second region, hell, fire red's 9 islands probably had as much content
R/S was pretty good, D/P was cool too, platinum being so awesome, haven't finished black.
also, i love me some pokemon pinball, epic spinoff, and the colosseum ones.

I loved all games, but I can't really choose between 3rd and 4th gen. I decided to vote 3rd gen because those are the games I haven't touched in a long time (and because I have about 500 hours on Emerald alone), so the nostalgia is really strong there. Those were also the first games where I felt they properly got to show the world they envisioned without too many technical restraints.
Edit: I really liked the story and areas of B/W, but there weren't enough things to do besides fighting. Hopefully the 3rd version adds more to do in the game (so I can take a break from the fights without having to put down the game / break immersion).

Gold/silver suck balls just for how ridiculously low leveled all the wild pokemon are throughout the entire game. I had more fun with black/white than I did all of Gen 3/4 so I'm going with that.

My favorite of all time has to be Red, a close second though is Sapphire. Those 2 have to be my favorite generations for pokemon games, mostly just because I like the Pokemon in those generations the most.

I'm going to detail why I love R/S now because I'm bored.
They revolutionized pokemon games. They were the first games to have really nice visuals, and probably my favourite to date. The colours were soft and pastel-y, very beautiful. Next up was the pokegear, though I forget what it was called in that one. It was fucking AMAZING. Not annoying like the phone before it and still better than the newer ones. The way it kept track of who wanted rematches was spectacular. Finally, the range in areas to visit was amazing. Yes there was a lot of terrible water travel, but between that there was a fucking volcano, an ash covered plain, a DESERT, and undersea ruins. The game was awesome.

But because of that you always had your team handicapped just because you needed specific pokemon to travel those areas. A HM slave with water moves, a pokemon with strength and so on. Not until you got to Elite 4 you could have the whole team you wanted. That was stupid. It took me more time than I would've liked to get a team that I was satisfied with.
I much more like FR/LG for that. The awesomeness of the first games, corrected glitches, and the art style you praise, which I also love. And a short but nice epilogue after beating the Elite 4. And GARY, GARY, GARY. After pouring more than 80+ hours on FR, I've yet to get a 80+ team that OHKOs all of his team, which isn't THAT strong anyway lol (I'd also like to add that I'm raising like 20 pokemons and I took the time to get right natures -which has to be the silliest thing I've did, since it doesn't matter anyway-).
But yes, G/S/C were the best games in the series. Even if I grew up on R/B/G, the amount of pokemons, the two maps, NEW TYPES, discovering what types the pokemons were, when I couldn't access the internet so simply to research it. New Eeveelutions, Ash raping your butt without saying a word, Gary having a great team and leading the Viridian City Gym, the train... everything was just a 3x-4x upgraded version of what they had previously released. It was really a lot, and on GBC!
I have the sudden urge to play Crystal right now.

The thing I hated about RSE however was that your rival NEVER GOT TO EVOLVE EVERYTHING. You battle them last in front of that Lilycove? Department store and that's it. Rivals should always be able to be rematched with their completed high level team. Also the water was a hassle but diving and exploring made it so much better.
GSC was amazing but the thing I hated was how low leveled it was throughout the main storyline. Even if it involved Kanto I don't like how Johto could be rushed through so fast.

People who care about pokemon training/competitive battling are crap
