I wonder what it was that inspired them to do something like that? Yes, it is impressive, but I'd have to agree that accomplishing the same thing in another more dramatic fashion would likely take far less time.
On an unrelated note, I wonder if the people who were remaking Link's awakening for the TI-89 ever finished it; I hadn't checked in about 7 years or so. (Note: I still own the cartridge despite not owning the system, so I see nothing wrong with it).

I have about $55 in a gift card right now, so I'm torn. Is it a good idea to get Minecraft now or better off saving the money for holiday sales on Steam (or wait until there's some sort of Minecraft sale)? xd
I'm hesitant because $21 seems quite a bit...

The longer you wait the closer it will be to minecraft become a full game and costing more.

I dont think there will ever be a minecraft sale ever besides the 50 and 75% off the price during beta.
If you wait to november 18 you will have to buy the game at the full price of 20 euros.

You know, it just occurred to me while I was browsing the android market that there was a little statement when we purchased Minecraft in alpha form that we would receive all future versions and updates free of charge. Does this mean there's a way to redeem Minecraft Mobile? Seeing as it is the same game, simply a different version.
Kinda doubt they'd take a potential loss like that, but you never know. Mildly interested in getting it mobile, but not at the 7$ level for only alpha with likely difficult controls (relative).

Yeah but you bough minecraft for pc, so any update and versions will be free to you for that platform.
Minecraft for androids, may be the same game but its a different platform which is coded entirely different (I believe its even coded in a different language) and i also believe you cant play your PC saves on your android nor connect to PC minecraft servers.

Minecraft mobile isn't just a new version - it's an 'entirely different' game. So, no.

Here's a thought.
You know how many of the big mods need some sort of energy to run their stuff, but that each mod has its own kind of energy? Why can't it be universal or something? :/ Something like... take the energy part from IndustrialCraft and make it its own mod, and then have all other mods depend on that in terms of energy distribution and a sole energy unit while letting other mods have their own ways of producing said energy?
Anywho, am enjoying 1.9pre4. And I actually found a way to get out of The End in Creative mode...

So besides looking cool, what's it actually do? Push a tube of lava to the surface?

I have updated the model a little but heres what it does:
First it extract the Lava (And pineapple that was a pretty pineappleing big lava lake and theres still left >.>), then send it to the pipes to some tanks to fuel other BC combustion engines when needed, and the rest its send to a bucket filler (Feed it with Water/Oil/Fuel/Lava and a Bucket and it fills the bucket when powered), then the bucket filler sends the filled lava bucket to a allocator (Its a Redpower2 machine with a 3x3 grid for putting items, and when it receives a Redstone signal it will try to use/place whatever its inside) that uses the lava bucket to place a lava source directly bellow the Industrial Craft pump (A pump that can only suck the Water/Lava block below but can put it on Buckets or more importantly Cells), after it sucks the lava and transform it to a lava cell it expulse the cell on the only open space (To the side, and it expulse it because it doesnt work with BC pipes sadly) then i make use of a obsidian pipe/Transponder to suck up that cell and put it on a nearby Chest for storage.
So far with this little thing i have made about... 960 Lava cells and can still produce a pineappleing lot more.

Its because these mods are Standalone, ergo they dont have dependency from other mods (Beside modloader and forge ofcourse) since each of these mods are made from different developers.
But that doesnt mean they can interact with other mods, BC its a fine example of this, you just need to find/make new machines to take energy from one of these mods to transform it to energy from another mod (Theres a Industrial Craft Addon called Dynamo that transform mechanical energy from Better than wolves to Industrial Craft energy and viceversa).
If i knew how to code in java and how to mod in minecraft i would make a BC Electrical engine that works with the same potency of a steam engine but uses IC Electricity to work. (I would also make a better Recipe book since i have like 800 recipes in the game >.>)

http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index....eadID=2037 Someone sorta beat you to it. Seems like it's an IC Energy -> BC Energy converter.

Well i still have my idea to make a new Recipe book >.<.
Also i would have just made a Tier 2 BC engine (Same potency as Steam Engine) but instead of using burnable stuff for fuel it would use electricity (somewhere around 32-64 eu/t) to power itself.
That Way combustion engines would have not been made useless or something.

I was wondering if it would make a difference if I bought the game now since it says that updates aren't guaranteed and I'm concerned about things that get released that I won't have access to. Would this really make a difference or is the update process going to stop once the full game comes out?

He did say that there might be some features that you'd have to pay extra for eventually, but alpha accounts would have free access to that.
But once the full game is out the price goes up, so no reason to not buy it now.

I thought they said beta players would always have full access.
Either way though, it's incredibly stupid if they decide to actually go through with that ''DLC'' horseshit. I guess there's always mods though, the main source of fun for Minecraft till the end of time.

Pretty much mods are the future of minecraft lol, they just need to implement the mod support to make it more easy though.
And if they go with the "DLC" pomegranate... well they are on their right to do so, but i dont think they will start with that as soon as they launch the game oficially.
