S**t Siri Says

The iPhone 4S isn't even out for another 16 hours, and already there's a blog capturing Siri's ridiculous side.

I got the S today and i guess i just have to speak more clearly but there are some communication issues. I asked it to play a random song from a specific album and it wouldn't do it. :[

Not surprising. Some people in Germany got the 4S days ago, and some in the US were receiving it yesterday. Either way, still debating on getting it or not since I have the 4. I have upgrades on my line, so it's kind of tempting. I'm thinking of getting white instead of black this time.

There's extremely little point in using your upgrade just to go from 4 -> 4S. The hardware improvements aren't enough to justify being locked out of buying another phone for two years (unless you enjoy spending a lot more than you need to) when the next gen will be here in the spring which will have everything the 4S has and a lot more, including newer form factor.

Do note I said upgrades, not upgrade. There are 4 lines on my plan. And by all means, please post a source for a new form factor being released in the spring as opposed to the summer or fall.

So? I have 4 lines on my family's plan too all with upgrades and i was the only one to upgrade because i had a 3GS and i dislike waiting with decaying soft/hardware. The rest of my family is waiting. I didn't have a 4 so i upgraded. If i had a 4 i wouldn't upgrade, which is why i'm suggesting it to you.

There are no real sources for apple rumors. Just slightly reliable inferences. Also, http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/231209/2...th-alu.htm

On a different note...

Why are people compelled to get a new iPhone every time one comes out? It confuses me...

Is it because people need to feel that they are superior to others? Do minimal new features that could be added in an FW update justify it? .__. it is confounding.

Siri is awesome and should reduce car accidents the more it gets improved/spread around, among other things.

It's 4G speeds. (on AT$T)

Dual core processor...

As for the psychology...i dunno man. Marketing f'ucks are damn good at their jobs what can i say.

I'm aware there are no real sources, which is kind of the point I was making. You were saying it as if it was certain. If these analysts had any merit, we'd be using an iPhone 5 right now with LTE, a bigger screen, redesigned teardrop form factor, etc.

Either way, if I have extra upgrades, why not? I want white instead of black now. I don't have a real reason for upgrading other than I want to, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I could be spending my money on something completely useless like NX after all. Either way, iPhones retain value very well, so it's not like it would be much of a loss to begin with. It would actually be a bit silly to just let lines idle with upgrades that won't be used.

You mean besides the patents being made? I severely doubt they're making those just so other companies can't use it. Whether you want to believe it or not, if you upgrade from the 4 you still have to wait a long ass time to replace it so you might as well hold out for whenever the new model is because the upgrade(s) you're considering are lacking in actual upgrades. Unlike a 3GS to 4S upgrade.

Debunking my argument with stuff like "i want to" is all fine and well, but it would be nice to consider what exactly you're getting for it's ~$230 price point (16 GB + screen protectors/case, if you're into that sort of thing. Not many people aren't.). I don't know your budget or needs or psychology towards spending money or having things just to say you have it, but you already knew this, so...no point mentioning it against me. :/ I'm just trying to help you make an informed decision.

Why shouldn't you use upgrades that are sitting there? Because you're going to want to upgrade eventually and it'll be a lot more money to upgrade if you do it now...might as well get the most value out of your purchase. Like...spend $2xx now to get decent stuff, or wait and spend probably around the same amount to get revolutionary stuff.

Also, are those 4 lines of yours personal or something?

Well it's a good thing i wasn't mentioning those things as if to make it more like one of those things, unlike apple's marketing team for some reason. Despite the app store having some pretty awesome looking games, graphically.

Faster processing speed is still needed for overall performance. On my 3GS it takes at least 4 minutes to load pretty much anything relating to GPS. It's less than a quarter of a second on my 4S. If upgrading to higher specs is supposed to mean the device is trying to be something higher than it in the tech chain, what the hell are servers trying to be? I mean that's what technology has been doing since the very start. Why is it all of a sudden silly?

I'm waiting for the nokia n9 (Searay) to come to America, just to be different. Everyone in my family has an iPhone and they're planning on getting the 4S which doesn't make any sense since they have the 4. If only they knew better...

Got the 4S earlier today. I had a 2nd Gen iTouch that was running out of space (only 8 GB) among other problems, and my phone was 4 years old (LG enV, and the front screen had been screwed up since the 2nd year for some reason), so this is a massive improvement in so many ways. It's so much faster... Shine
